Alabama s. Notre Dame - (AJ's GF in SI Swimsuit Issue)
I was thinking of taking Alabama and laying the points. Reconsidering as game time approaches. Thoughts??

My gut says Bama covers the spread. But I honestly don't prefer either team in this one, will be watching purely for the entertainment value. Tired of the SEC dominance, but not a big fan of ND either.
A win for ND might indirectly help perception of the ACC even if they aren't a full member. A loss by them doesn't push them any closer to joining as a full member though IMO.

Is there any other sport in the world, collegiate or pros, that does this?

SEC didn't do so well in the BCS bowls and Notre Dame has multiple quality wins (Stanford, Michigan, and Oklahoma should all finish the season ranked). Why is everyone sleeping on the Fighting Irish?

This Bama team isn't as good as previous title teams but I think they are strong enough on the OL to get it done. |

Nick Saban having a month to game-plan + coaching in multiple BCS championship games is the biggest factor in Alabama's chances to win.

This Bama team isn't as good as previous title teams but I think they are strong enough on the OL to get it done. And Bama was losing in the final minute to all 3 of the good teams they played. |

Yeah Golic has been pulling out the "ND graduates its players" lines as his internal excuse for when Bama rolls them. After all the UNC* stuff that has come out, I don't believe their players are any better students than most any other school. His isn't too confident - that's a fact, but loves to pump that he played there and so does his tatoo'd up son. Roll Tide!!

As a fan from a team not in the SEC, it is better if the SEC wins again. We do not want to have to deal with SEC national championships and Notre Dame too.

I took ND to cover but think Bama wins the game. I took ND because I expect it to be a low scoring game with neither offense able to do a lot against the other teams defense.

As I said, I was planning to take Alabama -10, but as it approaches I am having second thoughts. ND has so much pull. Could they get the benefit of calls since they are ND and such big underdogs?? |
