Maybe they'll end up there.  Hard to see a team that gets beat by Florida friggin' Gulf Coast and Indiana State as top-tier though.  At least our bad loss was to a top-25 (now) team.

They have, however, had a great start to ACC play, so they may end up there.  We'll see.  If they can beat Duke at home they're definitely there.
Oklahoma State was not ranked then and they're not ranked now.

On the road at Maryland after a very big win is dangerous for this team. I hope that they have matured enough to take on the challenge of a road game after this big W.
Go Pack!

Go Pack!

The tradition of our teams (football and basketball) says this is a loss - but I think we have the talent to pull out an ugly win even if we play close (like Gatech and BC games) - plus MD's performance last night makes me wonder if we will just roll them up so quickly that they have no shot at all to come back.

GO PACK!!! BEAT MD!!!!!!!!

These next 4 games are our regular season in a nutshell. @UVa, Miami, @dook, @clemson.

Win 3 of those 4, and we're on our way to a #2 NCAA seeding and possibly regular season championship.

lol, i dunno...i guess we could go 0-7 as long as we go 3-1 over the next 4.  This is a loooooooooooooooooooong season guys...18 games instead of the normal 16.  We're still 2 games away from HALFWAY!  Long, Long, Long, LONG way to go. I see 6 "SHOULD win" games in the rest of our schedule. The other 5 are toss-ups(2 FSU games, @Duke, @UNC and Miami)

In answer to both of you guys.

Look, I don't have a crystal ball. If I did, I would have been here talking about the dangers of demon deacons on the horizon last week.

What I do know is this. If we do win 3 of these next 4, I see no one on our schedule the rest of the way that SHOULD beat us.

Of the 5 games wolfman says are toss ups, 2 of them are in the next 4 (@dook and miami). The other 3 games?
unc-ch* is of course a danger, but we're far more talented than they are and if we play our average game, they're gonna have to play their best game to beat us.

FSU? If we don't beat them by 20 at home I'll be pissed. This is a team that lost at home to Mercer and South Alabama. They also lost to Auburn and scored 36 @UVa in losing by 20.
They have 4 wins against teams in top 115 in nation, and two of them came a week before Thanksgiving. The other two wins are against a Charlotte team that miami beat by 30 and maryland.

I don't know what our final record is going to be, but if we are 19-5 (8-3) with those 7 opponents remaining, we should finish no worse than 24-7 (13-5), which should easily get us a #2 seed.

Love how our game against UVA (both teams in the group fighting for 2nd in the ACC with 2 losses - and we will still be ranked) is not on tv - but unranked 3 loss CHeats playing last place BC is on ESPNU).

So rankings and wins don't matter to the tv folks.

TV sets schedule before the season

I remember back in the day when we would have to adjust the rabbit ears on the black and white TV to the the one ACC game a week on Saturday produced by C.D. Chesney.

When a game came on mid-week, it was a big deal.

times change
as Bruce Springsteen sang "57 Channels (and Nothin' On)
now it is 200-300 channels and nothing is on
