NCState 83 Georgia Tech 70.
Florida State tops Maryland in a thriller on the road.
Wake Forest spanking Virginia, 40-28...about 13 minutes left 2nd half.

Believe it is more of a sign that FSU is coming on. I've watched about 3 games of MD. and they looked good each time. Clemson?? Don't really know. Wake got a nice win last night as well. Va. beat UNC, Wake beats Va. Sounds good to me. Miami, UNC game should be interesting tonight. Go Canes!!

Maryland has played nobody. Kentucky, who isnt very good...and thats it. Their SOS is horrible. I could see them missing the tournament with 20+ wins ala VTech

Re: ACC MBB conference standings and the week ahead
There's actually a good bit of young talent in the league right now. BC's two guys (Rahon, Hanlon), Maryland's got a few...as does Ga. Tech....
Hard to know exactly how good Ga. Tech is right now, but I think this win will look better by March.
UVA, Wake, BC and Clemson look to make a pretty clear bottom tier.
I really feel for UVA fans, because that basketball (win or lose) is unwatchable.

They had a new coach and new offensive system to start the season, but teams have now scouted them and are ready for what the do. Tech lost the top freshman from last season and top incoming freshman for this year. Going to be a LONG BBall season in Blacksburg

So, I wonder how much home cooking the Heels will get tonight on the Heap. I could see the Heels being 0-3 after the FSU trip.

2 games in and we pretty much know the pecking order of the ACC. 4 teams on top as I expected, the middle of the pack at 1-1 are pretty much what was expected and then there are the 0-2 teams. LOL!

Surprised how tough my Jackets hung with the Pack the other night. We're young and have some holes to fill - like a consistent outside shooter. But we hung with you on the boards for the most part, and played scrappy D. Those two things alone should win us some ACC games this season.

This four game stretch is not fair @State VT @Duke @unc

Bottom half of the ACC, and the "tiers"
Especially given the way the games went yesterday - seems like the bottom half of the ACC is pretty indistinguishable. They all just stink. Once again it seems like the ACC has firmly established 3 tiers: 1. NCSU, Duke 2. Miami, FSU, UNC, UMd 3. The rest Nice however to see a bit of shuffling at the top going our way. Will be interesting, as usual, to see how the rest of the season plays out, and if it bears this out.

Put Miami in the top tier as well. They won two road games by a sizeable score and have a chance to go 3-0 tonight. If they win, they deserve a top spot as well.

Going to be a big shake up when you add Syacruse, Pitt, Louisville and ND to that list.

Let's wait until the end of February to talk about 'tiers'...it wasn't too long that State was down near the bottom.

They have, however, had a great start to ACC play, so they may end up there. We'll see. If they can beat Duke at home they're definitely there.
