They're 2-10 and dead last in the ACC dude. It's not like they are Miami...they are a bad team that has now lost 8 consecutive ACC games.

Their results have justified asking this question before ACC play began.

When this thread hit originally, I said that VT was in a slump and that they'd finish 7-11. I figured that Greene's scoring would be good enough to win against the bottom of the league and maybe pull an upset or two.

Well, with today's loss, they're pretty close to having to win out to get there. I don't see that happening.

I had low expectations for Johnson as a coach, and so far those are looking founded. What's the over/under on his tenure at VT? I'm guessing he gets 3 years automatically, but the question is about the 4th.

Not that it matters at all to anything you want to create in your head, but my wife knows the Green family personally from Winchester, VA. Their family is one of the most giving, and well respected families in the city. Erick, who she has known well before Virginia Tech, is the epitome of student-athlete, and role model for young kids. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and if you knew even an ounce about his family or Erick, you would know how ignorant you sound by calling him a "thug." I will never know the point of posts that do nothing but shed hate for no reason, and make the person who posts it look like a lost, immature soul......

There was nothing "thuggish" in that game yesterday. Two teams fought very hard, and in the end, the better team prevailed. Must it be more than that? Virginia Tech has certainly had its share of rough characters over the years, but I am not sure you are going to find any on this years basketball team. I mean to tell you, these are the closest to choir boys VT will ever put on the court. Jeff Allen is even disappointed in how non-thug these guys are.......

I know your opinion is in the minority, but I just had to point out how incorrect you are about the character of Green. Why don't you Google a little and read about Green and his family. Maybe that will help you realize how un-"thug" he really is......

This VT season reminded me a lot of the 92-96 Les Robinson years.....the only reason to watch was for one player (Fuller) and the hopes that the team might improve or actually upset someone........

In attending football games at both VT and State for 20+ years, I generally find that people just don't go around punching people in the face for no reason unless it's a West Virginia home game. So I don't believe that happened, and I'm sure Apollo Creed will come back here and tell me the full story, but it's just not believable.

From my perspective, VT and State fans are very similar in that they are a passionate fan base that cheers hard, has great tailgates and atmosphere at games, and treats visiting fans with the same respect that is given to them.

His idiot Hokie redneck friends were with him hootin' and hollerin' as they did it. It was disgusting.

They did arrest the guy. It was an awful weekend all around. I've never been around a group who is so cocky about their program, especially since they've never won anything.
