2nd, you are either missing my point or ignoring it about EG.
My point about him earlier in the thread was, who cares how great a player he may be individually if it does not translate into wins for his team?
He averages 20+ points a game and good for him, but you said yourself he is surrounded by absolute duds, so does he just look better than he is, because he is the best player on a bad team? Kinda like a girl you would consider a 6 looks a hell of a lot better standing next to a girl that is a 3...see what I mean?
Tell me this, would you take EG over Lorenzo Brown? Would you take him over Shane Larkin?
EG is not a garbage player, but don't fool yourself into thinking he's John Stockton or Allen Iverson... EG has proven he can score on anyone. When you are surrounded by duds, everyone doubles and triples you. EG's problem is that he is not a true PG, so he won't be a high draft pick. Some team will pick him up in the second round, but his scoring ability is better than anyone in the ACC right now.......not the best pound-for-pound player in the ACC, but definitely the best scorer this season....... --------------------------------------------- I love what Green is doing this year, but you're kidding yourself thinking Green gets drafted. |

Hubman, I see the same thing on EG. The mock drafts show him going mid to late 2nd round for the most part. The guy can play. He's able to create his own shot, and does a lot of things well.

Their roster is awful, the head coach has never been the head coach anywhere else before and oh by the way it's not football here for Virginia Tech.
The first month and a half seems like an anomaly after seeing their last 3 games (losses by 36, 26 and 23) and I told a few VPI folks I knew this might happen, but said it mostly in jest. Now it looks very real as they enter conference play.
Somewhere Seth Greenberg is smiling.
NC State plays them in Raleigh on Feb. 16th and I wish we played them twice!
What do y'all think? Will the Chokies set the ultimate mark in futility in the history of ACC basketball? |
