There is a very good chance they go 0fer in the ACC.  They are truly horrible.

tabramos wrote: No clearly in sports the transitive property cannot be applied with 100% accuracy. The point is one could wonder if NC State might not be vastly superior to Virginia Tech and then realistically be confident that the Hokies will not be anywhere near 0-18.

For example, in football this last season....

NCSU beats FSU
FSU beats Clemson
Clemson beats LSU
LSU beats A&M
A&M beats Alabama....

....and even as much as we all love NCSU (and would want to have beaten Alabama this year) the only beating would have been the beat-down we would have received from the Tide.

As one of my coworkers commented Tuesday morning the only thing different about Alabama and most NFL teams is that Nick Saban has more first round draft choices on his team... he just gets them a couple years early.

You DO realize that we/VT have the same ACC record as UNC, right?  biggrin

Isn't still more fun for you guys to pick on the Holes?   I know I love kicking unc-cheat when they're down.

Anyway, I'm glad we were able to scrape together a win.  They might be few and far between but at least we got the first one under our belt.

A lot more fun Hokie. Most of us here, knew you guys would win some games in the ACC. Please excuse EastCoastChappelhill, he in no way represents the majority of us here. It was quite clear from all the posts I read here. By the way, beat the hell out of the Holes.

Wake had two great chances at the end, especially the follow.

ETA: A truly dreadful call on the final VT basket. Should have beena no-call or a charge, but the drama queens must have their day.

I'd think at least half the people on these boards see that as a possibility.

Technically it is a possibility so I would think (hope) more than half.  NC State Alumni are usually good at math. I am assuming you meant probability.

The OP could very well nail it by two games, and its really amazing that they won those two games......however, the OP lost all credibility when he said that Erick Green was not that good of a basketball player.......I am not sure what more he wants EG to do out there.....he is surrounded by absolute duds (minus Raines), and he is averaging 26 points a game........that's 26 points a game.......

Hubman,

1st, you just verified this thread's justification with your opening remark.

2nd, you are either missing my point or ignoring it about EG.

My point about him earlier in the thread was,  who cares how great a player he may be individually if it does not translate into wins for his team?

He averages 20+ points a game and good for him, but you said yourself he is surrounded by absolute duds, so does he just look better than he is, because he is the best player on a bad team? Kinda like a girl you would consider a 6 looks a hell of a lot better standing next to a girl that is a 3...see what I mean?

Tell me this, would you take EG over Lorenzo Brown? Would you take him over Shane Larkin?

EG is not a garbage player, but don't fool yourself into thinking he's John Stockton or Allen Iverson...

Erik Green is a player - he is basically the oly reason they have 11 wins this season. Not his fault he has noting around him. Of course his points are higher based on no one else on his team. However, he would start for us over Purvis

EG has proven he can score on anyone.  When you are surrounded by duds, everyone doubles and triples you.  EG's problem is that he is not a true PG, so he won't be a high draft pick.  Some team will pick him up in the second round, but his scoring ability is better than anyone in the ACC right now.......not the best pound-for-pound player in the ACC, but definitely the best scorer this season.......
