Futures for "former" staff

Futures for "former" staff

I've been perusing the boards like most and taking note of the major reshuffling going on across the country. I'm monitoring Utah State's exchange with Wisky, Wisky's exchange with Arky, NIU with us and so on and on.

What I can't find info on is.... What are our "former" staff members gonna do? Are they actively involved in these reshuffling of coaching decks going on?

Please post info/links here regarding the former staff or the TOB Staff.

I expect Petercuskie and Archer to land plum jobs somewhere - just not in coaching.

It is VERY telling to me that after all of this none of our staff have gotten picked up by other schools.  That should speak VOLUMES to anyone who debated whether a change was needed.  Maybe a few of the staff will eventually pick up jobs at FCS type schools.

After the bowl game is over, don't be surprised if several members of the staff come back to haunt us......

The greeters would probably stay at least 15 yards away from all the customers.

RE: Futures for "former" staff

Since most staff positions haven't been filled yet across the country, saying that it's "telling" that our guys haven't been picked up yet is a bit of a stretch. I wouldn't be surprised at all if one or multiple members of the current staff remain in the ACC and face NC State next season. UVa hasn't filled their defensive openings yet. Probably waiting till a bowl game is over. BC has multiple positions left to fill on both sides of the ball.

Btw, BC did fill their DC position with Don Brown. The DC at UConn last year and at Maryland before that. They also kept their best recruiter, McGovern, LB, that was on TOB's staff.

+1

This was the feeling that I was beginning to get which is why I started this thread.

Not to bash. but to be informative.

Good point but a lot of folks aren't waiting for the bowl game including us. I have nosed around the Wisky board and am still trying to figure out if they are gonna even have coaches on the sidelines at the Rose Bowl of all places.

I saw the other day where TOB was asked to comment on recent events at NC State and he replied,

"Improved common bermudagrass cultivars such as ʻYukonʼ, ʻMirageʼ, ʻPyramidʼ, and ʻRiveriaʼ have become available in recent years. These can be established from seed and offer greater aesthetic and functional quality over older common bermudagrass cultivars. The cultivar of common bermudagrass best suited for use on athletic fields is ʻRiveriaʼ, as it has been found to be highly tolerant of foot traffic. Hybrid Bermuda grasses are interspecific crosses of common bermudagrass and African bermudagrass (Cynodon transvaalensis). These hybrids do not produce viable seed and must be established using sprigs, plugs, or sod. Various hybrid cultivars can be used on athletic fields, including ʻPatriotʼ, ʻMS-Choiceʼ, ʻGN-1ʼ, and ʻTifsportʼ,

but ʻTifwayʼ (also known as ʻTifton 419ʼ) has become the industry standard. ʻTifwayʼ is highly tolerant of athletic  (Cynodon transvaalensis). These hybrids do not produce viable seed and must be established using sprigs, plugs, or sod.

Various hybrid cultivars can be used on athletic fields, field traffic and possesses a high recuperative potential. ʻTifwayʼ bermudagrass is commonly used in stadiums throughout the National Football League and Major League Baseball."

It was time for a change, but let it go guys.  Mock Jed all you want, but I don't see any reason to mock TOB.  Good man, got our academic standing with the team in order, ran an ethical program and poked UNC with a sharp stick.  We now have what we wanted, a promising young high-ceiling coach.

How many had multiyear deals? I assume we only have to continue to pay those who had multiyear deals and do not get new jobs.

Think a few of the staff will land at BCS teams and ACC teams. I know Reed and Clemson have talked and I could see Tenuta, Bridge, and Willis at UVA. I think Walters would fit in well at Wisconsin. Edmonds to Cali or Arkansas. I'm assuming Bible retires along with TOB.

This.

While I didn't think TOB would be fired I am looking forward to the next step in Wolfpack football.  Thanks to TOB, in an era when the North Carolina media was looking for anything to trash the Pack to take attention away from the heels, they found nothing.  And you can believe they were looking.

Hope Walters lands on his feet. That man is a class act.

Really sucks for these guys with young kids. I know it's the nature of the business, but its not easy moving around as a kid.

I haven't heard any more about it but posted on another thread last week that I heard a sportswriter from the Charlottesville newspaper on a UVA radio show out of Richmond .  He was asked about any speculation concerning replacements for the UVA assistants and mentioned Tenuta was reportedly on the list of DC candidates at UVA.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect... but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.

Breaking news... LSU will part ways with head coach Les Miles, replacing him with a legend: Mike Archer.

Expect LSU to take the next 4 national titles. Bend don't break is back in the SEC!

Great coach, will kill GA recruiting RT @footballscoop: At Clemson, we have learned that NC State DBs coach Mike Reed will join the staff
There wouldn't be a "Tobacco Road" without NC State.  Otherwise it would be "Liberal Tree Hugging and New Jersey Turnpike South Road".

TOB set our program on the track it is now on.  Who would've thought that national media would have considered us a top program where a good coach should want to be?
