Every program has a Bob Kennel. What separates Kennel from the herd is his galaxy-sized ego and his equally swollen and misguided sense that he has to "set everyone straight" on the "right" (his) way of thinking.

They thought pretty highly of themselves during their brief success under Prosser (RIP) and when we were down and some of their more vocal message board fans weren't shy about letting us know what a joke our program was. And they joined in on the "OMG State was crazy to run Herb off!!!111" groupthink. They are getting what was coming to them post Gaudio firing.

Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of. Why bring in a coach who you know is going to fail? Why go into a program thinking you cant win? I dont care what Dino did, he won games and they were not on probation. If you are going to replace a guy simply because he is an ******* than you better have a suitable replacement. Wellman should be fired.

Just telling you like it is from people in the know. WFU decided to put academic and integrity before winning. Dino let the inmates run that place and Wellman was able to jump before they took over the joint.

Wellman and Bzzzz were friends and Wellam knew that Bzzzzz would come in and clean up the disaster that was at hand. Change the characters of the kids, getting them going to class and etc. Such a new thing - an AD putting a guy in place to clean up a mess left behind, someone he can trust, they were putting ACADEMICS and integrity before winning. This direction was agreed up by big donors and the chancellor -

Now I assume they had hoped Bzzzz would have been able to win more but it was the chance they took.

FYI - Dino was more than an arse - he liked the bottle too, liked some hoy women and could careless about the academic side.

The biggest mistake was hiring him as the band aid when Skip passed but it was a strange situation for all.

embarassing, sorry but very Herb like....i said it...playing down to the level of competition, and don't give me tired legs...the ACC and NCAA tourney have games within that window. This team thinks they are better than their competition, almost lost to VT, and Clemsun, and lose to crappy Wake. UNC comes in next, figure we play our best game of the season since Duke. I expected Gott would have had them run the stairs after the Maryland debacle, this team does not learn. Start benching them, CJ with 4 pts most of game, and once again we let one player run rampant, can we not guard the guy putting up 24-30 points on us? Here we go with a 3rd place finish in ACC.
