N.C. State moves up to #16 in the RPI as of 2am
Ok State didn't move and UConn moved up 2 spots in the RPI
UMass moves into the top 50 after tonight, at #49.

maybe it is the time of the season, but I am surprised on the number of teams NC State has played with 0% chance of NCAAT at-large bid
football record prediction (2010) 3-9, 1-7 (2011) 5-7, 2-6 (2012) 7-5, 4-4 MBB prediction: (2010-11) 21-9, 10-6 (2011-12) 19-12, 7-9 (2012-13) 24-7, 12-6

So, there's a .18% chance that NITStanislus will be visiting us soon?

Thanks for keeping up with this. Interesting how much the RPI hates UVA but how much Pomeroy likes them (#73 in RPI vs. #17 Pomeroy). Guess this backs up what others have said about how UVA is a strange case this year.

4 wins against Top 50 BPI and all losses except Wake against Top 50 BPI (3 against top 10). It should be much better but still not too bad.

Re: Annual Bball Opp. Rec/RPI/Pom/Sagarin/Dance Card/BPI
The reason Pomeroy has them so high is because he doesn't weigh bad losses as much as RPI. UVa hashad some horrendous losses... I mean bad. He weighs the scores and margin of victory. Most of their wins against the cream puffs have been blow outs which helps them with his formula. I mean losses to GMU, Delaware, ODU, Wake, Clemson AND GT. They should be on the wrong side of the bubble.

So of our 8 losses, the 3 worst were on the road in conference, and all the other were to NCAA tourney locks (according to Dancecard). I'm not too upset about that. Wish it was better, but we stand to make some noise in the next few weeks.

In fact - with Dancecard updated through Sunday's games - UVA is barely in and MD is just a few slots out.
So really the only BAD loss was at Wake. We definitely need to show tomorrow night just how much of a fluke that was.
GO PACK!!! WAX WAKE!!!!!!!

GO PACK!!! WAX WAKE!!!!!!! One really bad, wtf, basketball loss in early to mid-season used to be a Jimmy V. hallmark. In fact he used to telegraph them to the team and the fans for those who would listen. I remember on his radio show when he said we would lose at Tampa because the weather was too nice and the kids probably would not be able to pay attention until it was too late - sure enough they laid a turd. Then he would turn around and use the lose to remind and motivate. The WF loss was one of the worst I've seen in an NC State team in a number of years, but it all came down to them starting to play Superman ball instead of basketball ball and then Wake got lucky. Superman ball has been a factor in all of this year's losses except Okie State, the second Duke game, and Miami.
I like the athletic type.
