The difference is he wasn't 6'8/260.  It's crazy.

Re: The Official 2012-13 NBA Thread

Big O was about 6'5  220 maybe. Would be a little more muscled up with current workouts and nutrition standards, so likely around 230 maybe.  I would think that his playing style would match very closely to Lebron, Oscar could score, rebound, and make the assist. No three point shot back then either so that cost him some points on his average.

Magic had a similar size, but wasnt as aggressive at scoring as Lebron.
I would like to see Lebron run the point at some time in his career, just to see what he would do in that spot, I think he could lead the NBA in assist but might have to sacrifice some points to do so. Who knows, one day he may get bored like Wilt did and just decide to do that.

^ In the amount of time Magic could run the full length of the floor, Lebron could run it and back. His speed at that size is amazing.

LeBron basically runs the point now. Chalmers is just another shooter to space the floor.

James taking it to Durant in his own house. Too easy for Lebron.

That Durant fall looked awful. I thought he might be out a few weeks, yet he didn't even leave the game.

To me it's not close as far as overall player.  Durant can score, but he's a jumpshooter who finds his way to the line a lot.   He needs to develop more of a postgame going forward too.

The work LBJ has put in on his jumper has taken him to another level.

If Lebron could shoot like Durant he'd be the perfect player. He is improving his shot but doubt it'll ever be that good.

LBJ has become unguardable with the emergence of his jumper.

All star Saturday night.

I hope James White has enough in those 30 year old legs to pull off some of the stuff he has in the past. He has some stuff that's never been done in a NBA dunk contest.

Isnt that kind of a racist comment for Diddy to say?

Anybody see the Kobe shutdown Lebron in the last 7 minutes of the All Star game? You could tell it kind of took Lebron by surprise how much Kobe ratcheted up the intensity. I gotta feeling Kobe felt pretty good about himself after that one.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been approached by the Atlanta Hawks about a trade of Josh Smith for Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes.

The Orlando Magic have offered J.J. Redick to the Milwaukee Bucks for Luc Mbah a Moute and a first round pick, according to sources.

NBA local RSN TV numbers. 7,200 avg households watch a Bobcats game on SportsSouth (FS South). The lowest number in the league. By comparison, 250,000 on average watch a Knicks game on MSG and 230,000 on average watch the Lakers on TWC Sportsnet.

The Phoenix Suns have acquired Marcus Morris from the Houston Rockets for a future second round pick.

Looks like the Morris twins are back together again, but only a second round pick for a guy who was a first round pick last season.

I see why he was move though. The Rockets have acquired Thomas Robinson in a trade with the Sacramento Kings. Kansas forwards moving around, not living up to expectations after one or two seasons, HMM hope Randle is watching.

James Harden with 46 tonight to beat his old team, the Thunder.
Said it before and I'll say it again, OK City traded the wrong guard.

RE: The Official 2012-13 NBA Thread

It seemed like Marcus was the better Morris coming out of Kansas. I'm more impressed with Markieff in the NBA. I watched him play Portland last night and he was underwhelming. However, he flashed his potential a couple games earlier this season. I guess he has a long way to go in the consistency department. Shooting 27% from 3 so far this year also isn't cutting it.

*Traded the wrong position.  Perkins should be gone.  In fact, some are suggesting Perkins "bad right knee" this evening is a actually an impending departure to Phoenix.

The Perkins trade has been one of the rare LOSE/LOSE trades, you hear WIN/WIN all the time, but Boston got worse and OK City has not gotten any better.

OKC traded away a guy who has already proven to be one of the 12 or so best players in the league for Kevin Martin and some other crap.

Kyrie Irving is good. 35pts 5reb 7ast. Great stat line last night although it was against another bottom feeder the Hornets.

As a Raleigh resident, even I would tune in to watch a Lakers or Knicks game over a Bobcats game.

I think when Lebron's contract is up with the Heat, he returns to the Cavs and plays with Irving.  I think those two together could attract another star to play with them.

No way in the world they should have traded away Westbrook.  If he keeps developing he will be elite.  I think they should have let Ibakwe walk and gave Harden his money.  The reason they traded Harden is because they could not pony up the money to sign Harden and Ibakwe.

If they want to beat the Spurs in the West and the Heat in the Finals, they need Ibaka's presence in the paint.
