Yep, looks like it may be time for the C's to rebuild. Trade Pierce and/or Garnett to a contender, see if anybody will take Jason Terry's contract and look to move on with players like Sullinger and Avery Bradley. End of the Big Three Era in Boston.

Who could use Pierce or Garnett ?

I find it amusing that Celtics fans before the season were telling themselves "Terry is better than Ray Allen at this point in their careers anyway."

Yeeeeeeeeeah...not even close.

Terry has been a huge disappointment, I think Barbosa is the better player as far as backup guards go. The Celtics actually require Terry to play Defense, not just score. He seems to be a product of the Dallas system or just not a good fit in Beantown. I hope he can finish his career strong, but I dont think it will be as a Celtic.

WTF kind of D was Boston playing there? They're up 3, let Lebron's defender get screened w/o anyone coming over, and give up a wide open look for the tie.

Have Kobe and the Lakers righted the ship? Two wins in a row and here are Kobe's incredible numbers:

Utah: 14 Pts, 9 Reb, 14 Ast, 3 Stl, 1 Blk
OKC: 21 Pts, 9 Reb, 14 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk

Those lines look like what you might expect from some sort of mutant LeBRondo.

Oh yeah, and then there's this:

If the Lakers want to win, Kobe's going to have to step up his game and play more like that, and less like a scoring champ.  Can he suddenly change after 15 years?

Kobe's been fantastic over the last two games. I think it's very impressive that he can change his game like that and become a near triple-double man. I hope he keeps it up.

His back was the reason his slid in the draft. Everyone knew about it. Now we're seeing why all those teams passed over him. Based on talent, he was a top 5-10 guy in this last draft, but his back issues were a huge red flag.

It's so weird because I was just thinking about this last night, but here's a video of Henry Abbott and Brian Windhorst discussing Lebron's true value: LINK

I was thinking yesterday, what would guys like Durant and Lebron true values be in a completely open market with no salary cap? Could they demand 40 mil a year? 50 mil? 60 mil? I think it's obvious that there are a couple guys in the league who should be in a completely different earnings bracket from everywhere else. The way it is now, you have max guys like James Harden and Deron Williams, who, while good players, hold no where near the value of someone like Lebron or Durant, yet they all make relatively the same money.

And Boston wins again 99-95 over Toronto, that 5 in row since the Rondo injury, weird stuff going on in Beantown

Also Pau Gasol out six to eight weeks for the LA Lakers, tough break

Hawks turn down Josh Smith request for a Max salary extension, no surprise as Danny Ferry continues to shape the team into his ideal. Smith is leading the team in scoring and blocks and is second in assist and rebounds, so there could be a market for him, but he will be a free agent this summer.

Celtics were 0-6 in Rajon Rondo's last six games before the injury, they are 6-0 since with a blowout of the LA Lakers last night, just something to think about in Beantown.

Yes.  However, LeBron is closing the gap.  What made Jordan so much greater than everyone else was his competitiveness.  He brought it EVERY game and was he best when his best was needed.

Triple overtime game in Boston between the C's(6 wins in a row) and Denver(9 wins in a row)

Boston pulls out the win 118-114 and now has 7 straight without Rondo
Garnet 20 points 18 rebounds
Jason Terry 26 points
Paul Pierce with the triple double 27 points, 14 rebounds, 14 assist in 54 minutes

Yep.  I'm a Kobe guy, but that is what is so maddening about him.  Every year he teases you with a three or four game stretch of unbelievable, GOAT-level play derived from selflessness, and it typically comes after he takes a bit of criticism.  But then he reverts to his old ways, which are still amazing, but nonetheless leaves you wanting.

The Brooklyn Nets are aggressively pursuing a trade for Atlanta Hawks star forward Josh Smith, league sources told ESPN.

The two teams are engaged in discussions. But one source said while "there has been lots of talk, nothing is close yet."

As the NBA's Feb. 21 trade deadline nears, Brooklyn is proving to be one of the most active teams in the league. As reported by ESPN.com on Friday, sources said the Nets also are talking with the Charlotte Bobcats about a Kris Humphries-for-Ben Gordon trade.

Agreed with this.  Not only did they play in different eras, but they play completely different styles of play.  To me the question is if you were doing a draft of all time players, who would you select first?  It would be really hard to not pick Lebron.

If you mean first all time between Jordan and Lebron, maybe, but I would have to see Lebron win at least 3 more titles to consider it.

Now if you mean best ever, Lebron is not the first pick at all.

Somebody must have stolen the Leprechuan's gold up in Boston cause the bad luck is coming in waves now.

They lose Rondo and the Sullinger for the season, win 7 in a row.
Then they lose to Charlotte and now word is they have also lost G Leandro Barbosa for the season as well.

This is after losing two players last season to heart conditions (Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox)
