WHY MINNESOTA WILL BEAT WISCONSIN

We have Eric Decker and they don't.  I hope you weren't waiting for anything scientific lol.

In all seriousness though, from what I have seen out of the Badgers defensive backfield is that they have a huge tendency to give up explosive plays to receivers from other teams that are far less talented than Decker is.  Even if the Badgers focus all their attention on Decker, he's proven he can beat double and even triple teams through his sheer strength.  Also, you may want to watch out for Duane Bennett.  I think he's finally getting back into the swing of things and may be ready to really breakout.  Early lines have the Gophers as a three point favorite.  I'd take Minnesota all the way.  GO GOPHERS!!!

And Bucky rejects in Royston, Cosgrove and Lee.  Enjoy!

Kim Royston had a huge interception to stop a Northwestern drive before halftime last week.  Kevin Cosgrove's halftime adjustments have been key in the Gophers winning 3 of their first 4 games this season.  So yes, I will enjoy.  Thank You though.

Talk about irony.  Royston couldn't find the field in Madison, yet he shines compared to the Badger secondary that he was second fiddle to, in your view.  Hmm. Better judge of talent, you or Bielema?  Don't answer that.

Cosgrove's adjustments are legendary in Madison...just ask Barry Alvarez.  I particularly loved his adjustments in the Air Force game.  Programming Tripplett to return that fumble for 6 was pure genius.  And the Cal adjustments, and the Syracuse game, I like them all!

Royston is NOT the star of our D-Backs. Simmons is, also Sherels. And royston prolly wouldnt of played if Brock was here.

Therefore, pointb your an idiot.

kthx

The Cal games was the best example of this.  The defense gave the Gophers a chance to win that game in the second half.  The running game was not very effective at all.

Loosen your helmet and re-read my post.  I said Royston couldn't cut it at UW - your buddy Joshwa is the one who painted him as a star in the making at Minny.

So, as much as it pains me to say it, we appear to be in agreement on Royston's shortcomings.

I never said a thing about him being a star.  He just isn't as big a liability as you make him out to be.  I never heard any complaints out of you when he still played for the BADgers.  Now that he came to the good side, you develop hostility.

Royston played in 12 games as a Freshman (mostly special teams, some DB) and as a Sophomore (ST and extra DB on D).

Couldn't find the field? Sheesh! He played as a Frosh!

Re: WHY MINNESOTA WILL BEAT WISCONSIN

So,why do you suppose he left?

Hint: he left for more PT.   He felt he wasn't getting an equal opportunity to start in Madison (aka he was passed on the depth chart by his friend Jay Valai, who is unquestionably the superior talent).  So he left for Minny despite the fact he would not be eligible to receive a scholarship and would have to sit a year.  Had he stayed at UW he would be buried on the depth chart behind a couple of rFR and would be a ST fixture.

The funny thing is, most kids who depart under similar circumstances end up going to Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, etc. and Royston chose Minny.  What does that say about Brew's secondary?

Re: WHY MINNESOTA WILL BEAT WISCONSIN

if he sucked that bad why did Wis. even offer him a schooly? and then he sucked so bad the UW coaches decided to screw the kid over by not allowing him to recieve any aide here at Minny.

i guess the Wiskey was made from rubbing alochol again. please go eat cheese and smell your glue because your excuses here are lame.

the kid wanted to come home. the kid deidn't like the coaches. whatever, he's a kid, that happens lets screw him fiancially since we can. that is a very classy move your your favorite school!

and a referrence about thugs in ther posts goes way back to your mobster boss Don Alverez and his cheatin ways.

It's too early to tell, but I would say that neither is anything to write home about yet.  As for Royston, I am very comfortable in saying that his counterpart at Bucky (Valai) will rate out considerably higher come year end.  Valai is a pre-season all-B10 performer and he has at least one helmet sticker (*wink) to his credit dating back to last year...

Wisconsin opponent's receiving yards - 904
Minnesota opponent's receiving yards - 853

This may not seem like a huge deficit, but given the difference in strength of schedule thus far, it's a bigger difference than it seems

Big ten regulations specify that you can't transfer to another in conference school and be on scholarship, that had nothing to do with badger coaches.

You're hanging your hat on 13yds/game?

Bucky INTs   7

Punky INTs   2

Surely you considered turnovers in your expert analysis.

I thought I read something where Bielema could have giving him some sort of release that would have allowed him to be on scholarship. I could be wrong.

Points allowed:
Minnesota - 92
(@Syracuse, Air Force, Cal, Northwestern)

Wisconsin - 95
(Northern Illinois, Fresno State, Wofford, Michigan State)

You've allowed more points?  With that schedule?  Really?
But I'm sure you considered that in your expert analysis right?

By the way, Wisconsin has 6 interceptions not 7.  5 of them actually are by the defensive backfield, so yes I did consider turnovers in my expert analysis.
