NDSU #25 in mid major poll - Tuesday

NDSU. Is 8-2. Lost to #1 Indiana early in season.

NDSU is led by Minnesota mr basketball 2010. 6 9' Marshall bjorkland. Taylor Braun, Lawrence Alexander. And. Redwoods. Mike Felt.

Should be a run game to watch on Btn.

gophs win in a close one .

Living in North Dakota, I will not be able to stand it if NDSU wins. When their football team beat ours last year, there were billboards all over town (and I live 3 hours away from that campus), congratulating the Bison on their victory over the Gophers...and the Gopher football team was irrelevant last year, I cant imagine how things will be if they beat a very relevant basketball team.

First of all, Minnesota Mr. Basketball 2010 was Kevin Noreen, and he plays at West Virginia. Get your facts straight.

Secondly, I highly doubt that this will be a close game. NDSU just doesn't have the athletes to hang with Minnesota.

Agreed.  NDSU may be 8-2, but one of its losses was to Green Bay,though they only lost by 26 pts to Indiana (not bad really).

NDSU has beaten the likes of North Dakota, Morehead State, Nebraska Omaha, James Madison, Duquesne, Youngstown State (in OT), Mayville State, and Valley City State.  Not exactly top basketball programs.

Minnesota should be able to win easily.  NDSU can shoot the 3, but the Gophers will shut this down.

NDSU played horrible and still only lost by 13.

Noreen was mr basketball, Bjorkland was AP player of the year.. had 13 and 12 tonight and was the best post player.

maybe, but it didn't seem like their "horrible" play was so much self inflicted, but rather due to athleticism and ability of the Gophers.

NDSU looks like they will be a pretty decent team and could make the tourney.  Good win for Gophers.

The gophers did not play their best basketball against a team that looked like they were out of sync.  Tubby called off the dogs with about 12 minutes in the game and played guys like Mo and Wally.  they played with starters but the ball was forced to those players that needed work due to less playing time and WE STILL WON BY 13

could you imagine if the intensity was turned up and guys like Dre and Austin looked for all those opened 3's that were there?  game would have been a serious beat down.  But in the classy style that is Tubby he layed off and securred a quality win.

here's to NDSU and the rest of the year.

You mention NDSU played poorly, but fail to mention Minnesota didnt play that well either. People who watch games with blinders on will see what they want to see. The Gophers also played two players for the first time this season, because Tubby knew the Gophers could afford to do that against NDSU.

I would take trevor over this guy when trevor gets to 100%  Bjorkland was good but had nothing around him as far as post guys go.  we ran three guys at him and he could not stop trevor.
the highlighted above mention is deffinately from a guy who loves his team without seeing what is truely going on.

I agree with you that this was the 2nd game in a row where the Gophers had stretches of poor play when they should have drove the nail in the coffin.

I'm curious though, who was the other player besides Ellenson to play for the first time this season?  Mo has played, Shell has played and Halvorsen has played.  Buggs is a RS, so I don't know who the 2nd person is that you are referring to.

To CC...perhaps you didn't watch when Mbakwe came into the game if you think Bjorklund was the best post player on the court.  14 pts and 18 rebounds in 21 minutes is pretty damn good. Bjorklund gets 12 pts and 6 rebounds in 24 minutes.  I think the stats alone point to who the best post person was on the court.  http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/...ameId=323460135

CC is a troll. He's not interested in the facts. Bjorkland was at best the third best post player. Williams and Mbakwe were absolutely dominant.
