Damien Wilson Commits 

I don't know much about him, but welcome to Minnesota Damien -- we'll certainly be looking for you to get some quality time on the field.

Here's some info on him that I found
-- 6-3, 230, played at the Mike position in JC.
-- Transferred to Mississippi from Alcorn State University.
-- Looks like he played quite a bit as a freshman while at Alcorn, and last year at JC; so he's got play time experience

From his JC coach:  “Damien got here in June and physically is exactly what you want in a linebacker,” he said. “He is fast, runs to the ball hard and is always playing wide open. Chapman played well last year [at Alcorn] and we expect him to do some good things for us."

hopefully he comes in with a little chip on his shoulder as you need that mentality playing Defense.

we need depth at that position so welcome Mr. Wilson and work hard on all aspects of your skill to make sure you can help improve an improving defense!

Had 122 tackles in 9 games, 76 of them counted as solo according to his stats on a JUCO site.

Hopefully he can contribute immediately. I saw his Yahoo profile, he has a long list of offers, but no big time offers.

I fully expect him to start in the middle unless we land another mike backer. Beal just had or is about to have ACL surgery. Again. I feel so bad for him.

It was great seeing Number 1 out on the field as he brought some great hit to the LBs. No one has had a tougher road to travel than Beal. Here's hoping the best for him.
