almost as much as i really dislike the state university of ohio.

since the sixties these two programs have been going in opposite directions, but there was a time in which the winner of the minnesota michigan game was the de facto national champion. and since the sixties the gophers have been the perennial also-ran for the little brown jug, a trophy game that could be nationally prominent if not for the gophers tradition of crapping themselves whenever they see the maize and blue. 

taylor lewan, whose dad played football for the gophers, chose to play for michigan. let's go out there and make sure that he plays his entire football career without ever winning a big ten title.

I don't hate Michigan fans, just bandwagon fans in general. People who aren't from the state or didn't go to school there or have no legitimate tie there and claim that they are a Michigan fan really make me mad.

i had two nice michigan fans next to me at the game and they werent snotty about anything.  they did leave before the game ended on the clock but the game was over

The Little Brown Jug trophy game is a joke.... If i was the gophers next time id get id break it.....

It would be good for the B1G for Minnesota to come back to the national stage; the more the better. It would only help the conference to improve as steel sharpens steel; and I'm tired of the SEC crap. It would be nice for the B1G to dominate them in the bowls in the near future.

Michigan fan here...living in ohio. I just wonder why one has to be a fan of the university in which you live? I am 49 now & have loved Michigan since I was 10 years old.

So no Minnesota fans would fall into this category?  Most every school has fans who have no ties to a school or the school they like isn't in the state they live in or are from.

There is no reason.  A person can pick any team they wish and become a lifelong fan.  Besides the Gophers, I have cheered on the Maize and Blue for decades.  I have relatives in MI and went to a small college in Western Michigan for a couple years right out of high school, but I never attended UM.  My son is now following the old man in cheering blue.  Go ahead and cheer on UM, Jimbo...especially since you're living in enemy territory!!!
