kevin young

This guy's gotta be the most thug dirty player I've ever watched. Pretty sure Self told him to knock Smart out of the game and that was his whole plan. If anyone is watching the game vs OSU, first a forearm shiver in the lane that hurt Smart's shoulder. Then after Smart had rolled his ankle, a blatant tackle on a breakaway layup.

Also the second most important player for the squawks.

That's just what the beakers do. D-bags are always plentiful in KU. Can't be suprised.

I hope KU plays Wisconsin in the tourney and those big boys from Wisconsin kick Withey's and Young's ass. Remember, KU thinks everything is clean unless it is against them. Since Self, Ku has always had thugs on the team. Just call them Thug U

With each passing game, my hate grows for that organization.  On that last possession, there was a travel but the refs weren't going to call it again.  How does a team that played so poorly come out with a win on another team's court?  They didn't score a field goal in ten minutes during overtime until the last shot and still win.

Was it the same official who kept sending Withey to the line?  If so, it needs to be investigated.  I thought a defensive player is entitled to the same space on the floor as an offensive player.  Can a player really back a defender into the lane, flail his arms like a spastic and continue to get sent to the line?  Is that a basketball play worth two points?  I hate the way KU plays basketball.

True, but at the same point, OSU did nothing to help themselves win the game.  3 last posession shots which were about as low-precentage as could be.  All they needed was a 1 on 1, drive to the bucket and a foul.  Yet, all they took was a hail mary, contested, fade away jumper, near the 3 point line, as their best shot.  Sickening

Pretty sad Ford is so bad of a coach.  It takes away a huge win from some kids that otherwise deserved it. ohlord

BTW, it's so easy to hate KU. They always find a way for the refs to help them out exactly when needed to get the call. I've never seen a guy like Withey get the benefit of the doubt, in all of College BB.  The refs are so BS when it comes to benefiting the Beakers... and it's been that way for way too long.

Same MO that Self used at Illinois.  It seems to work for him.

No that was resident KU official John Higgins. Either Whitehead or Higgins do all the KU games I have seen one game this year that KU did not have either. The official that called the play your are mentioning was standing right by Self. My guess is Self called that foul. He also is the one the called the offensive foul on Nash late that was bogus.

Higgins is the most despised official (active) among KU fans. Thanks for the laugh!

It really is absurd that ksu fans are the only ones keen to this great conspiracy. I mean how does the Big 12 and or NCAA not see this?!?! All the proof they need can be found on ksu message boards.... ridiculous! And would u believe that KU was called for more fouls and Withey got 4 in Stillwater but the refs still bailed them out! Surely at some point these decades of biased injustice will catch up with KU right?

Withey knows he's protected and  Self knows Withey is protected.  When they couldn't buy a bucket, Self just told Withey to start flopping.  He, also, had his players to throw it into Withey because he knew it was a bucket or a whistle.

Withey was called for a foul on OSU's end.  As soon as KU came down the court, Withey forearms his defender and pushes him away knowing quite well that ref was going to make the call up.  That ref couldn't take his eyes off Withey and as soon as Withey's defender recovered and put an arm on Withey, the whistle was called.  Same thing happened against Gip at KU.  It was so evident that there can be no doubt.  Even Barlow mentioned it on the broadcast.  I mean to tell you, God as my witness, Withey KNEW THAT REF WAS GOING TO BLOW A WHISTLE SO HE INSTIGATED THE WRESTLING MATCH TO FOUL OUT HIS DEFENDER.

Self was, also, the one that demanded a foul be called on Gip over in Lawrence.  This is why Gip stared at him.

Yes, KU does get more than it's fair share of calls.

Despised?  That's understandable.  KU fans want ALL of the calls not just 2/3.

Re: kevin young

I have never read anyone saying it's a conspiracy, you jayhawk retards (I'm sure it's out there from someone, but that is a ridiculously small number of people).  All people are saying is they can be biased (intentional and unintentional) and manipulated - this is evident in many sports and venues and teams.  And facts that are on video are open for debate when calls are obviously in error.  In fact, biased refereeing has been proven in studies, but I wouldn't expect you to know anything about them.  Let's all just act naive and we'll think no team ever gets the benefit from biased officiating, ever, in any sport anywhere.  Especially when we're benefitting from it!  I miss Kansas sometimes, but man I'm glad I don't live around you quacks anymore.

Kevin Young pretty much should have fouled out of every game I've watched him play this year.  Oh man he needs to cut his fro - probably makes his nose look smaller so maybe he should keep it?  I like it in late game situations where he and lil' thug are laughing it up, classic [ahem, vomit].  I'm not sure I've seen any team's players just goofing around at the line or in a timeout when it is a tight game with serious implications for a conference title.  Maybe his fro is creating mental interference somehow.

Interesting stat: Number of home conference games in Stillwater in which OSU has not won the foul differential: 1 (KU).  They only even had two in noncon, one was Gonzaga (interestingly a 1 pt. loss as well).
