Petro Snyder Rumor----says assistant coaches leaving bc.....

....sean snyder has been announced as the next head coach from his sources. i don't believe it, but it would certainly not be a good sign of how others feel about sean as a leader if it is true. durka durka.

Know anyone closer to Coach? Know anyone else who would listen to advice from LHCBS?
For my money, whatever Coach wants, he can have!

why not sean...i have no problem with this and actually if he had the drive determination and attention to detail his dad has then we will be in good shape.  I'd rather give him a shot then find either a up and comer that uses Kstate to pad his resume for a bigger school or someone who doesnt have clue what it takes and sets us back.  for the others leaving i would to if i knew i cant get where i want to be by staying.  thats just a good business decision.   if they are that good they can come back as a coordinator then move on to the next level.  But to me sean makes sense for our situation.

i'm not against it, but it would not give me the warm and fuzzies if everyone was jumping ship......especially ex-wildcats.

If Coach Snyder wants it then I approve. Much better option than having John Currie bring in Ron Zook or Derek Dooley.

If the hire was going to be internal, and I doubt that's the direction I would go, Dana Dimel would be a more logical choice.

Re: Petro Snyder Rumor----says assistant coaches leaving bc.....

Perhaps. However, some coaches are best as position coaches, some are best as coordinators, and some are best as head coaches. Problem is most people assume success at one level will translate to automatic success at the next level.

I don't know that Dana would be a great head coach / successor to the legend who is Bill Snyder.

I don't know that Sean would be a great head coach. However, something tells me he would be better than Ron Prince, or Ron Zook, etc...

Either way I would hope a variety of people are considered - Sean, Dana, and others. No need to limit interest in the job, especially at a time where K-State's reputation is nationally higher than its ever been. If Sean is still the best option then so be it.

His sources would probably be Kevin Keitzman, and we know how reliable his theory's are.bored1

Does anyone suppose Petro called John Currie to ask about the validity of the rumor?  Just maybe the shock jocks on the radio need some material because it is the off season.  It is a good thing they are entertainers because they certainly are not reporters.

That is not Petro's, Keitman's, or 810's MO to either report rumors or to be wrong.

Petro did not make this up.  Fitz did not make up Coach Patterson (ie President Wefald was being too boisterous).

Lets face facts change is coming.  Sean is not horrible.  It provides continuity.

Isn't there a rule/law that says we have to post this job since we're technically a state organization, or is the athletic department private?

I agree with the poster above that said we're at a solid point in terms of reputation, ranking, perception, etc. I think it would be very small-minded to make a backroom deal for the coach's son when there's the potential we could get a much better candidate.

We have to get away from this mindset that "only Snyder can win at K-State". The longer everyone believes it, the harder it is to attract someone when the time comes.

I know Sean. I like Sean. But it will be a mistake of epic proportions if he's hired as the head coach. We'll be sub-500 in a hurry and it'll take a decade to right the ship.

This coincides with everything I have heard but let me be the first to say I have not heard any of this officially.
