Call for KU-UK 150-95 to be uploaded
I know this got circulated on DVD a while back but I missed that opportunity. Can someone step up and upload this file to Mega-Upload or somewhere else for those poor souls who don't have it?
This game is mentioned at least once a week in various threads and we need to get this thing out there.

If my memory serves me correctly this game was not broadcast. The only copy of the game (or so I have heard) is the edited coaches copy in which there is no audio other than the arena noise. sorry.

I have a copy of the Channel 6 rebroadcast on DVD. I will get a copy of it in the mail to Evolve tomorrow so he can get it on the net. That was quite a game.

No it was broadcast I had a copy on VHS for years but it died in Japan along with tons of tax records in a typhon. phog1979 wrote: If my memory serves me correctly this game was not broadcast. I don't remember it being televised live, as I listened to the game at a bar downtown (Louise's, I think) on KLZR.
Sunflower probably did rerun it at 10:30 that night though, and that's probably where video copies come from.
I'd love to see it for the first time.

Jeffbin has my address and is sending me the DVD I'll post it on Megaupload as soon as I get it. I can't foresee any copyright issues, as this game was not broadcast and it's a coach copy. I just hope the KU AD doesn't give me any crap for hosting it. Regardless, I'll host it until it gets pulled down, then probably keep reupping it. Maybe break it into segments and put it on youtube too

The Channel 6 broadcast, if that's what he has, is not a coach's tape/film type thing. It's the complete game, with commentators, etc. That's what I have.
I'll just repeat the warning I gave in a thread about this before. When you watch this game, you'll wish that AFH was around now.

This isn't it, but this was at a time when they put the cameras on the east side so the benches would be visible from the above cameras. I'll give you a hint. Something about the first and second halves are reversed.

I'd like to think we got him in a foul mood before the game even started. I was part of a group of students that camped out for the game, to get a seat behind the bench. For some reason, Floyd Temple let us in to our seats earlier than usual. When we walked in, Pitino was having the team do a walk through. When he saw us come in, he glared at us, had the team huddle up quickly, then had them go back to the locker room. We smiled and waved goodbye... brando

Re: Call for KU-UK 150-95 to be uploaded (1 vote)
I am the one who create the DVD of this game that was distributed a while back. It is the local Channel 6 broadcast of the game. I had a friend and his dad had recorded the game and still had the video tape. The quality was not very good after 16 years, so in order to get a watchable copy I had to capture and encode with a very high bitrate. That made the file quite large so it could only be distributed on a DL DVD. The video file on that DVD is nearly 7 GB. Not sure what MegaUploads limits are, but 7 GB would be quite a large file to get up there, let alone download.
I still have the raw captured video and I might try encoding it to divx format and see what that would do to the size and quality.

That's correct, I'm watching the first half right now and KU is shooting in front of their bench. The visiting team has the option which way they want to go first. I think Oklahoma did this in AFH in either 85 or 86, I have this memory of Manning getting the opening tip and slamming it in front of the KU bench. Anyone else remember that?
