Hulu/Netflix series (2 votes)
Hi all, I know this topic comes up frequently, but I checked back 10 or so pages and could not find the last one.
I just finished Prison Break on Netflix, which I enjoyed even after it's widely-noted haphazard storytelling in the last season. I am currently on Season 2 Episode 1 of "The Shield" and so far it is pretty good.
Any recommendations for what to start next, considering I've watched all of the AMC stuff (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, etc.)?
I plan to save "The Wire" until this summer. I searched for a while on Hulu and Netflix and saw "24" and an original hulu series "The Booth in the Back of the Room" that looked good. I checked but it appears neither have things like Rome or Carnivale or Deadwood or Boardwalk Empire or Game of Thrones.
I've heard Burn Notice is pretty good also.

RE: Hulu/Netflix series
I just noticed last night the West Wing and Friday Night Lights have been added to Netflix for live streaming. I recommend them both.
EDIT: I'm not sure if Lost is up your alley, but it is good too and can be found on live streaming.

My son got me started watching a show called Eureka. Not usually a science fiction geek but I've really enjoyed it.

Re: Hulu/Netflix series
Thanks everyone, I've written down the ones mentioned I have not seen and will add them to the queue.
I tried Justified but did not care for it, but I have heard it really starts to get awesome in the second season so maybe I will give it a go next then move to the others recommended.
I've still got a while on "The Shield" even with probably watching 3-4 episodes a week, so thanks for the suggestions to fill the void when it is over!

Started and finished Lost on Netflix, outstanding. I imagine it is a better experience being able to watch it back to back then have to wait for the next episode/season.
Never was a Star trek nerd but just started the series Enterprise and am enjoying it (except for the theme song) so far.

Outstanding I went through the whole series on netflix not too long ago. Definitely easy to keep watching, even riveting at times. But there's a couple characters that really make you want to head slap them (Julie, I'm looking at you!). Also be prepared for a really strange ending to one season and beginning to the next due to the writer's strike a few years ago - that caught me off guard and trying to figure out why it was done that way. Might be season 3 to 4.

RE: Hulu/Netflix series
Luther is a very good suggestion and pretty short for how good it is. You could go through that in a couple of days.
If you haven't watched the first four seasons of the West Wing, you should do that immediately.
I know you said you have seen the AMC series, but I had skipped over Hell on Wheels when it was on AMC and I think others may have as well, very entertaining, I watched it in a week.

Forgot about the West Wing, will add that. LOVE Hell on Wheels, last I heard they wanted to renew it but had serious issues with creative differences, turnover, and cost. It would stand as a pretty awesome 2-season series if they do end it, with a decent if not uplifting ending. Definitely going to want to check out Luther as well. timothyb wrote: Luther is a very good suggestion and pretty short for how good it is. You could go through that in a couple of days.

It's been this long and no mention of Arrested Development?

Sherlock is very, very good imo. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned. Only 6 episodes but they're each a full hour and a half.

Lots of good BBC shows as well. Spaced, for example.

Add in Peep Show and The IT Crowd in there too. They're both absolutely hilarious.

RE: Hulu/Netflix series
Wow, Hell on Wheels might have been one of the worst shows I've watched in awhile. Of the crappy second tier shows I'd put Falling Skies, Terra Nova, and even Dallas above Hell on Wheels. Justified is a first tier show and Hell on Wheels isn't even comparable.
