Austin - "I'm Much Happier Here"

Doesn't sound like he enjoyed his experience last year, nor does it seem like he has any love lost for Coach Crean.

Crean's 4 perimeter...1 inside player........don't shoot from the corner......"at IU, we concentrate on our players weaknesses", no game plan, what's a zone?, "we're so excited about a top 500 prospect, we've offered a full scholarship", "it's the players fault" style must be hell for all of them.

Maybe if he would have spent more time working on his shot he would have seen more PT.  He was hailed as am elite shooter out of high school.   He sure as hell never showed that skill at IU.  Hard to blame CTC as he had plenty of opportunities but just never found the stroke.

Last year I'm sure did suck for him.  The team sucked and he was a big part of why we were so bad.  And the IU message boards let him have it.

Anyway him leaving is a win win situation.  He gets to play two more years and get a free grad degree and CTC doesn't have to worry about finding him PT(when he'd be our 3rd or 4th shooter option.

Go Hoosiers!!!

He was never considered an elite shooter in HS.  That's complete BS.

Yea I shouldn't have said elite.  But shooting was the strongest part of his game coming out of HS.  He never showed that at IU.  Maybe it was the injury.  I don't know.  But time after time we saw him with wide open looks and he couldn't put it in.

One thing you assume from the story is that Butler is NOT absolutely a 'happier' place to be.  Even though IU has lost 3 transfers since the beginning of last season (Fischer, Hollowell, & Etherington).  In the same timeframe, Butler has lost 5.

Every school loses transfers, and Austin may very well enjoy his time at Butler more.  But, his transfer by itself is not enough to create a controversy about the IU program.

Maybe he's happier there because he's not overmatched.

My thoughts as well.  What would you expect him to say about his new school, and his decision to transfer.

Correct.  He was a volume scorer in high school.    Jumper was and is very average.

Butler lost players due to a new system and coach for these young men.

LOL what you think all of a sudden they did not like the food or rooms. Im agreeing you idiot , these guys left for the same reason IU players left. only difference IU players had more time at IU and with Crean then these young men at Butler. my source lol, ok ill give you a source Dicky V from Camblesville Ky. Just spoke to him he is 73 years old and agreed that these kids left like most kids do when a coaching change happens. Guy your not even a entire joke , your just the punch line.
