Michigan-Wisconsin, MSU-Purdue

Michigan-Wisconsin, MSU-Purdue

Had to hold my nose and pull for Wiscy today.

Sure looked like Bo Ryan was going to get outcoached when Burke hit a long three with Bruesewitz on him and two seconds left.  But then Ryan clearly outcoached Beilein by getting Brust's desperation half-court heave to drop and send the game to O.T.

Seriously, there was some questionable strategy regarding using the fouls that both teams had to give in that situation, but in the end, we'll take a Michigan loss.  Now we're in the curious position of needing a win by Purdue over MSU.

Bad news is, Duke will probably be back at #1 on Monday.  Unless, of course, they get outcoached by Boston College tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Kansas loses their third in a row at Oklahoma. What up wit dat? Coach Self threw his team under the bus after the 7-point loss at TCU on Thursday, and they responded, well, with a 4-point loss at Oklahoma. At least they narrowed the deficit.

Hey, John.  Do you have the MSU-Purdue game on?  Purdue is down 11 at the under 4:00.  They have been trying to work the ball inside to Hammons, but he's not finishing.  Byrd has two fouls, and hasn't taken a shot yet.  They'll need to get him going to have a chance.

MSU is playing better team basketball, and getting led in scoring by their Indiana boys, Dawson and Harris.  So far, the bounces have gone MSU's way, and the Boilers are not seeing any home cookin'.  Plenty of ball to play yet, but PU needs to get it going.

Minor point, but it was Hardaway that hit the 3.

MSU up 31-23 at the half.  PU got a couple of gifts from the refs at the end of the half, but couldn't convert them to points.  Turnovers are hurting them badly.

Still waiting for Byrd to show up.  18 of Purdue's points have come from the Johnson brothers.

Hey, don't let a minor point get in the way of some perfectly good sarcasm.

Meanwhile, PU is letting this one get away.  They had an edge in the foul department, but Sandi Marcius did an effective job of evening out those numbers.  There is still time, with 7+ minutes left, but they're now down 15 and MSU is showing more energy and activity on both ends.

Re: Michigan-Wisconsin, MSU-Purdue

IUB, No I am not watching P&MS, I really don't watch much TV at all, especially basketball unless I just happen across something, I have a lot of irons in the fire, usually work 7-12s on my many projects,up before the sun and usually work to dark or later. Never get everything done and dont care, always have something to start on early in the morning, My Tv consists of a homemade antenna designed and installed by me, I get 19 channels when the weather is bad and 29 when it is clear, I have a HD Tv so I get all HD channels in my area. When I get moved into my new cave that I am building I am thinking very seriously about getting rid of my tv and phone, dont need them,  all I need is my pc. My lifestyle is somewhere in between Aimish and a Caveman if you can picture that.
Back to our upcoming game at OSU, How do you think that will play out? Will we win? by how much? I am not picking this one and not watching. I fare a lot better when I dont watch or listen to them. More important things do do for me. ( I think).

Actually, I was being sarcastic with the implication that every loss is a result of being outcoached.  No problem with your post.  I think I confused Hardaway's three with Burke's last failed attempt at the end of the OT period.
