Indiana - Michigan

Indiana - Michigan

Kansas just went down to OK State, so as if there wasn't enough drama surrounding this game already, we now have the # 1 ranking on the line for both teams.

Match-ups will be very important, as we can't afford to zone much with shooters like Stauskas and Hardaway on the floor.  Assuming we go with the usual suspects, I'd expect Hulls on Stauskas, and we'll see how Yogi does on Burke.  Zeller is easy, he'll take whoever they trot out there--Horford, McGary, or Morgan (if Morgan's healthy--haven't seen a report either way).  That leaves C-Wat and Victor for Hardaway and Robinson III.  Expect to see Victor switching to anyone who gets the hot hand or dominates our initial defender--Burke is the key guy to defend.

We have the home crowd going for us, and the fact that Michigan is a young team with three freshmen expected to log heavy minutes in Robinson III, Stauskas, and McGary, will put intense pressure on the Wolverines.

We'll find out a lot about both teams in just a couple of hours.  It's great theater for the B1G.  Go IU!

Hey IUB. Sounds like a make or break game for the winner, Havent thought  much about who will win this game, My son wanted to know who my pick was and I said Mich. will probably win, but I am hoping that our Hoosiers will get the Victory, But being it is not on my channels, I probably will watch my favorite Saturday night 2 hour special, Songs of the mountains from Marion Va, and Lexington Ky, Not that I don't want to watch our Hoosiers but this is second best for me.

Hoosier Forever,
GO IU

Re: Indiana - Michigan

Well, there will be plenty of games and plenty of opportunities for both teams to recover from a loss tonight, including our re-match at Michigan on March 10.  This just happens to be the biggest college basketball game in the world tonight.

Theo Pinson, 5-star small forward from North Carolina, is on his official visit and will be in the Hall, along with Phil Booth, a 4-star combo guard from the DC area.  Luke Fischer is making the 6-hour trek from Wisconsin, and who knows how many other prospects will be in the stands.  JaQuan Lyle's Bosse team has a game tonight, but he's tweeting that he'll be in B-town afterwards.

I think you're missing out, John.  The game will be streamed here, if your old 'puter can handle it.  Why not give it a try?

Ok Thanks IUB, I will give it a try, Never liked streaming very well, have 2 many pauses, Don't know if it is my old modem or not, I have a really dim reception window out here, I had to have an outside booster even to get anything at all. We will see what happens.

Hoosier Forever,
GO IU

Yeah, it's frustrating when the stream hangs up to buffer all the time.  You could test it out on one of the other games at that site.  I had the Kansas game streaming there earlier.

Meanwhile, it looks like UK and Texas A & M are headed for overtime.  Tied with 1.4 seconds left.  Kentucky needs a Laettner moment to win this one in regulation.  It would be a good omen for us if UK loses.

No Laettner moment for UK tonight.  Going to O.T.

I'm not big on predictions.  I said in the OP that I think Michigan's youth will be a factor.  It's the first time in Assembly Hall for Robinson, Stauskas, McGary, Bielfeldt, Albrecht, and LeVert--and they have never seen anything like it.  On top of that, it's the marquee game on a national network with the spotlight on every play.  Home court + experience = victory for IU.

Just for shizzles and grins, I'll take the other side of your prediction:  IU 82, Michigan 75.

No, John, the game time says 20:00, which is military time for 8:00 pm.  You must be in the Central Time Zone?

Yeah, but it's 7:47 pm in the Region.  Hang on until 9:00 pm your time.  Or check out one of the other games to see how the stream looks.

Fish will paint the pictures for you, if all else fails. I lived in Chicago during the 70's and 80's, and all I could get was a very scratchy radio AM signal from Gary, which would fade in and out all night. Fish will let you know what's going on, even if all you can hear is the tone of his voice through the static.

Looks like Morgan is not ready to go. Horford starting.

This ESPN Gameday broadcast is like a recruiting video for us.

Yogi picked up Burke on the first possession. Victor has Hardaway, Watford on Robinson. McGary already on the floor.
