Troy Williams and Stan Robinson on ESPNU Today

Troy Williams' Oak Hill team is playing at 2:00 pm EST today on ESPNU (versus Jabari Parker, no less), with Stanford Robinson's Findlay Prep playing at 4:00 pm EST.

The games are on channel 253 on Comcast in the Chicago area.  Good chance for a peek at our 2013 recruiting class, coming up shortly.

Oak Hill trails by 6 at the half, but are playing without their starting point guard Nate Britt. Troy hit his first shot from downtown, but missed on his subsequent attempts. Has a few rebounds, a block and a steal.

Jabari Parker was the best player on the floor in the first half, although he slowed down the pace of his scoring in the second quarter after an unstoppable first quarter. Kendrick Nunn, an Illinois commit, looks like a nice player as well.

Coach Crean is in the house. Talk about a high motor.

Final 81-68 Simeon over Oak Hill. Unofficially, Troy finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals. Great quickness, fine defense, great slashing and finishing at the rim or above it. Had a couple of signature drives and strong finishes, but did not show much range with his shot--outside shooting definitely needs work, from what I've seen.

Without their starting point guard, Oak Hill did not show great ball movement or team offense. That and a huge dose of Jabari Parker were the difference in this one. Parker looks like a one-and-done player at Duke, has inside and outside game.

Next up, Stanford Robinson and his Findlay Prep team take on Montverde. D'Angelo Russel, #3 for Montverde and a 2014 prospect, holds an offer from IU--and about a dozen other schools.

29-23 at the half, Montverde over Findlay Prep. Stan sat for about 6 minutes of the first half, missed two outside shots and a transition lay-up in traffic. He didn't handle the ball much in the half, as Nigel Williams-Goss plays the point for Findlay and did not come out.

Montverde has twin towers with Dakari Johnson and Devin Williams, who account for 22 of their 29 points. Findlay will need to get their outside shooting tuned in, since they're not getting much inside against the Montverde bigs. A couple of threes from Stan, and it's a new game.

Wow, absolutely great game, Findlay came from down double-digits in the second half to win it on a three-pointer at the buzzer by Nigel Williams-Goss, 62-59. Eerily similar to last year's game between these two, Findlay came from behind to win it again on the last shot. Williams-Goss is headed to Washington, and they're getting a great player--as it turned out, the best on the floor today.

Stan's stat line will not be impressive for this game, but he was pretty much a "glue guy" for his team today (and I suspect for other games as well). With the game tied and Montverde in possession of the ball, Stan knocked the ball loose from the Montverde guard for the key turnover that gave Findlay possession with just seconds remaining.

The term "glue guy" was also used to describe Will Sheehey and Victor Oladipo during their high school careers, so that term--while it is not generally applied to 5* prospects--works for me and for the Tom Crean offense. These are guys that pass, defend, rebound, and generally play for the team instead of for stats. These are guys that win.

We're going to like Stanford Robinson. A lot.
