Home Cookin' in the B1G

Sitting here tonight watching Minnesota lose to Michigan at home and Illinois fall behind to Northwestern by 15 in the second half in Churbana, I can't help but notice that home teams in the B1G don't seem to be getting the favorable calls this year like they have in the past.

I think it's a great development and good for the credibility of the league, but I'm wondering if the B1G hasn't issued some directives to the refs regarding the conventional wisdom that the road in the B1G is especially tough because you don't get the calls.  We certainly didn't get any help from the zebras against Wiscy, which is particularly painful after some of the deadly assaults we have endured at their place over the years.

It just seems different this year, and I hope it's real and it continues.

The great General once said, If you can defend and play up to your potential, then where you win or not is not in the hands of the ref"s.
