Cakewalk Anyone? (Whisky)

Cakewalk Anyone? (Whisky)

No I hardly think so, Looks like to be a real competive game shaping up. We will be tested.
I have a lot of respect for the Wisc. coach and the way he goes about planning for a game, nothing flashy, but good hard nosed defense and very good offensive sets, Kinda takes be back quite some years to when Knight was coaching, wish I could watch it on the tube but I will have to listen to Fish call it, almost like being there.
Just hope we are ready to play some defense and let the game come to us, Gonna be interesting, Thats for sure.

Hoosier Forever,

John, I don't know how fast your internet connection is, but you could try streaming the game from this site.  It usually works for me:

Wisconsin has had our number for the last 10 games, it's time to reverse the course. Zeller vs. Berggren and Watford vs. Evans will be key matchups. Victor can guard either Bruesewitz or Dekker, but not both. Be prepared to see some zone.

One thing Wisconsin doesn't have is our crowd. The Hall will be rockin'. Let's tack some Badger pelts on the barn door after this one.

This Kentucky-Tennessee game is dragging along and probably going to push the start of our game onto another channel. Over 7 minutes still to play. Tennessee is hanging with them, despite being served a heaping plate of home cookin', and UK is up only by two. Would two losses in a row at coRUPPt be in the cards?

OK, now they've pushed back the start of our game to 9:10 pm.

Julius Mays hit a couple of threes for Kentucky and now they're up seven with a minute and a half left. They should be able to ride that lead home from here.

Finally got it going. 4-4 at the under 16:00 timeout. Wisconsin looks like they have the pace at their liking, but we are capable of explosive scoring. Victor should be shooting two free throws when play resumes.

We're capable of explosive scoring runs. Somebody light the fuse.

19-18 Wiscy at the under 12:00. The tempo has picked up, but both teams are playing well. We're running the offense through Zeller, who has 11, Wiscy getting more balanced scoring--including two big 3's from Bruesewitz and Kaminsky.

Hollowell had a nice contribution in a couple of minutes on the court. He'll probably be back after the break.

32-31 IU at the half, quite a chess match. Zeller has been the offense for IU, partly because Wiscy is focusing on shutting down our outside shooting, but partly because he is taking it aggressively to the hoop and is 8 for 8 from the field with 18 points. Berggren has two fouls, and Cody none, which is huge.

Cody could use some help down with interior defense, since we really can't afford to have him in foul trouble. Watford was basically a no-show in the first half, although he did hit a big 3 in the waning minutes of the half. He needs to contribute, and mightily, on both ends.

We have gotten caught playing too fast a few times, but that's our game. Coach Crean is willing to give up a few turnovers to turn up the pace of the game. We tried the full-court press, but Wiscy had little trouble with it--I'd like to see it again in the second half, however.

Only two points from our bench in the half, including 0 again from Sheehey. Lots of room for improvement in the second half. Can we expect Wiscy to shift their attention to Zeller, and leave the perimeter open for our shooters? Will the shooters step up? Paging Jordan Hulls.

About like that I expected the game to unfold, The key to this game is defense, who ever plays the best d is going to win, Too bad that current players everywhere always think of offense and neglect the most important part of the game, playing up in your face d.
We are playing this game just like Wisc wants us to, The key to getting them out of their offense is to put full court defense pressure on Wisc every time up the court to speed up the game, this will work as long as we can block out and get offensive rebounds. Otherwise this game will be a tossup. JMO

Wiscy has started the second half collapsing on Zeller with Evans and Bruesewitz, but Brust is staying in Hulls shirt. They are daring somebody else to step up. Sheehey, Abell, and Perea now in the game after the under 16:00. Somebody step up.

Coach is trying to get Cody a blow with Berggren on the bench with three fouls, but they are going at Perea now. Hanner is not yet B1G ready. Yogi can't buy one. Maybe Sheehey will step up. At least Watford is more active.

Wiscy with the first run of the game, now up 8 at the under 12:00. We have plenty of time to get a run of our own going, but we need to start soon. We're not getting anything resembling home cooking, but Wiscy frankly is outplaying us now.

Bad news for us, Wiscy made this run with Berggren on the bench. He's back in there now.

Their seniors are showing poise and leadership. We need Watford and Hulls to do the same. Elston, apparently, is still out of commission.

We need to get some turnovers off of our press. We've gotten nothing so far.

Your guys just can't seem to buy a bucket.  As a Badgers fan that makes me happy, but I get the feeling you guys are going to go on a run here pretty soon.  I can't imagine we can hold you guys down the entire game.

We could buy a bucket if Hulls could get a decent look. Credit Brust for his defensive effort.
