James Blackmon, Jr.

James Blackmon, Jr., has been putting up some big numbers this season after coming back from the knee injury that sidelined him for much of last year.  His Ft. Wayne Luers team is taking on Northrop and Purdue commit Bryson Scott tonight on a slow night for IU hoops fans.  Check it out here:

Well, that was ugly, Northrop wins 95-59. I have put folding chairs on the floor at practice that played better interior defense than Luers did tonight. Blackmon led his team with 30, but really, Luers does not have a lot of offensive options besides him.

Blackmon and Dante Exum, who is on campus tonight on an official visit, would truly make a nice backcourt.

Well, looks like the Aussie liked Assembly Hall a lot, but didn't commit.  Those 18-hour flights with missed connections must not bother him too much, as it looks like he's planning to look around some more:

Regarding Blackmon and the Luers team, apparently three senior football players who joined the team late have quit.  You'd expect that they would have made a difference in the Northrop game, even though a running back, defensive back, and wide receiver would not likely have had a lot of height.  Wonder what the rest of this story could be:
