Basketball Type

Basketball Type

I noticed during the Illinois/O$U game today the ball being used, courtesy of the HD.   It had the Nike swoosh on it, unlike the ball we use at home.  I do remember RMK using Baden years ago, just know now that the Nike ball is not what we use at home, obviously with us being a 3 stripe school now.  Two questions then.  One, what ball do we use at home?  And, are we allowed to practice with the Nike ball at home before going on the road to play a game at a Nike school?
Does anyone know if there are real differences that a shooter can feel, or a ball handler must be aware of.  Thanks.

Hmmm, very interesting question.  I found the following article from the New York Times, with some surprising information on the subject.  I do not know for sure but could suspect based on this article that IU would use an Adidas ball.  It might be in our interest to become familiar with the Wilson brand as well.  And Bo Ryan?  Go figure.

Thank you for the info.  Interested to know how Jordy feels about it.  With the really bad night shooting the other night in Iowa City, them being with the swoosh, hope he has one of each ball in Cook Hall to wear out nightly.  And you're right, wouldn't hazard a guess with Bo Ryan.  Just want Jordy to have every advantage.
