ACC-B1G Challenge - Part Deux

ACC-B1G Challenge - Part Deux

One of my favorite sporting series, after the Ryder Cup and the Olympics, is the ACC-B1G Challenge.

4-2 for the B1G after the first night.  Wiscy off to a bit of a slow start at home, in front of a lot of fans disguised as empty seats, down 6-2 at the under 16:00.

PU-Clemson on ESPNU, then MSU-Miami, Ga Tech at Illinois, and then tOSU-Duke should be epic.  Thank goodness for the remote control.

So IU blows out UNC and Wisc fans say we can't play defense. They struggle versus the offensively challenged UVA team. Oh the hypocrisy.

The main reason I would not want UVA in the Big10 is that it would be possibly 2 games a year where IU would have to play at a snails pace. 24 points in a half....brilliant. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bo Ryan.....setting back basketball 50 years, 1 possession at a time.

Wiscy down a point at the half, PU came out smoking at Clemson and now up 20 at the half. Byrd with 20? MSU neck and neck with the U early.

Speaking of Wisconsin, Luke Fischer had 28 last night in the first game of his last season at Germantown, on 11-18 from the field (including a 3-pointer), 5-6 from the line. Oh yeah, and 7 blocks.  Pretty big fish that got away there.

LF is showing lots of improvement over the past year. Look forward to him being a Hoosier.

I am surprised at PU with that big of a lead. Clemson must be terrible. (though I saw they were without their best player, but still....)

MSU without Harris may struggle til he gets back.

Harris is back tonight for MSU, didn't start but hit one 3-pointer so far. Still close in the closing minutes of the first half.

D.J. Byrd has been on fire for PU so far.

Nice, I haven't turned on the MSU game yet. The U just doesn't interest me at all in basketball.

I think the first team to 50 wins the Wisc-UVA game.

MSU up 4 at the half, Appling and Dawson with 7 each, Harris with 5 in his return.

Virginia is on a pace to score 50, but not Wiscy yet. Have to say, Dekker is not having a banner night, but he's going to be a nice player for them.

Wiscy now down 6 with 7:27 left. Curious stat--they have not shot a free throw yet in the game, and they're at home. Waiting for Bo to go ballistic.

Bo and the Badgers in a world of hurt right here. Down 7 and less than a minute left. Tony Bennett brought him a dose of his own medicine. Like diamonds, we are cut with our own dust. Wiscy's gonna need some help.

Now down 5, and they have the ball. See if Mike Kitts can help them out with a friendly whistle. It's happened before.

Down goes Wiscy. Now 4-3 B1G.

PU's lead is down to 12 at the under 8:00. Clemson's crowd is getting into it a bit. PU trying to work the clock but it's taking them out of their rhythm. The B1G could use a win in this one, as MSU is down 9 at Miami and it's hard to feel confident about PSU at BC.

PU held on to win, but MSU has Miami fans rushing the court. Izzo is going to like his team even less tomorrow than he did yesterday. Harris had 12 on 5-11 from the field.

Now 5-4 B1G. We need a win from the Illini, now down 4 to Ga Tech at the under 8:00.

Yes, I check out just about all of the sites. They have done a very nice job and have a lot of positive energy.

PSU doesn't look like they're going to help the cause tonight. Illinois is in a dogfight, just have to hope they play smart in the second half--12 turnovers in the first have made it tough sledding for them. They have TV Ted doing their game, which won't help.

Duke/tOSU will be for the win, or for the tie. Go B1G!
