What happened to this board?

In the past you had a lot of traffic and decent threads...

Seems like a ghost town now...

I used to enjoy this site and I checked it daily and for some reason I still do. But let's be honest, it blows now. It's like we got good and everyone disappeared.

RE: What happened to this board?

bholla - I apologize that you received a malicious warning, as did many of us. It was tied to the software with the game countdown and was fixed pretty quickly. We took that down along with any software that we were not certain of and no one has received a warning since that week.
As you know, unlike this site, hoosiersportsnation.com isn't backed by millions of dollars so we don't have the computer experts to track down and fix problems quickly but I was able to have the site checked out by a leading computer security expert and he says we are fine.

Please try us out again and see if you get the message.

RE: What happened to this board?

Cheyennemtnman -

If you look at my profile you can see how many times I have posted here in the last 8-10 months. I think I have posted once since we started the other site so I don't think I have been too obnoxious about coming on here for marketing purposes nor have I made it a priority... I am curious as to why you think we need marketing since we don't take advertising and since we have turned down offers for the site. And we are averaging between 600-1500 posts a day compared to this site's 10-20. During some time periods we are averaging almost 100x the posting activity compared to this site. So what is the advantage of me marketing here? Nor have I posted a single thing on Peegs. Our site has grown not thru "marketing" but thru IU fans wanting something different that this site didn't offer. I liked this site and have been a member for over 7 years but I didn't feel that the members and moderators that kept this site going were given the respect they had earned. I still have happy memories about this forum and the many members that have posted here and on my site. I have always stated that there is room for many IU websites and for our huge fanbase. I still stop by here...and peegs...and Insidethehall...and insideindiana...and the HT site...and many other great sites! I think most of us do. You are welcome to come to our site too.

Regarding this thread...This was the second time bholla has mentioned the malware issue on this site and I decided I didn't want that problem to sit out here without addressing it. Bholla is not a friend nor someone I know. Like he said, he has not been on the hoosiersportsnation site since the middle of October, as an administrator I can see that. As far as I know, he is being very truthful about his concerns so I addressed it. It is really is poor form to accuse him of trying to gain some advantage of this website when he is just some guy out there posting his concerns about malware...and his post actually helped THIS site and made ours look bad. From the pm and emails I have received from our new members, this sort of behaviour was one of the reasons that they came over to the new forum.

So to sum it up:
- I don't need the marketing. Hoosiersportsnation may be the most active IU forum on the web. Actually more people will cost me more money for bandwidth, etc.. For those of you that don't like the hoosiersportsnation forum, that's ok. Different strokes for different folks. There are a lot of good sites out there.
-You just called out Bholla for no reason. Sorry Bholla, you now know why you came over to hoosiersportsnation in the first place.
-Everyone is welcome to come by even you Cheyenne. The internet is big enough for all of us and the more the merrier!

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Bronko-
How do you know I am the real CC? Maybe I have hacked his account so he can be accused of marketing? Maybe Cheyenne is actually me and he is now marketing for my alter ego? Just some things to make you go hmmmm.

But seriously, Bronko is just the type of poster I was thinking about. He posts and surfs multiple sites and doesn't hold one up against the other. I haven't understood this rivalry. I still go to all the sites, including this one and enjoy all of them.

cheyenne is simply a real piece of work.  His insane rantings on the Indy Star forum during the whole Sampson episode was a piece of work.  It was on that basis I decided to crown him cheyenne-mountain-spin.  He is kind of a creepy fellow, follows people around with his camera and all that.  crazy

Quit being so petty, Cheyenne.    Just because your site crashed, burned and failed miserably, doesn't mean you need to bitterly whine at those who do it right.

There is no marketing involved so why do you insinuate that others on this site are sock puppets when that isn't true.  Most people consider the use of sock puppets to be underhanded, it is also considered an insult, so why accuse me of doing this?  Why would you insult me when I have never spoken with you or about you?  Are you just one of those internet trolls that post lies on unmoderated forums?
And now you use quotes on "your"?  What is that supposed to suggest?  I own the site hoosiersportsnation.com. I bought the name. I own the name.  I pay for all costs associated with the site.  I control the cpanel and all access. Knowing this, are you suggesting that I don't own the site?  Now I could not run the site nor would it have been anything close to what is if not for our fantastic moderators and the great members who have now posted over 100,000 times in the last 8 months but none the less, I own the site...so it is "my" site.

Why are you so concerned about how we would market and why are you so upset with our success that you would accuse us of unethical behavior?  What is your stake in bad mouthing the forum?  A forum that was put together by fans and doesn't accept money other than in donat ...donations that are tracked on the front page of the forum?

RE: What happened to this board?

Goodness gracious.   Cheyenne is so clueless, he STILL does not understand why his site failed so miserably, and the true answer is its almost entirely because of HIMSELF.   His own fault, he can't accept it.

That site of his had a great start with excellent start-off traffic.  If he hadn't gotten the instant big head and handled it properly, it could've been a big success.

Problem is, instead of growing from an excellent start, as you'd expect, it did nothing but shrink from there, and it was his own fault.   I know several people who once registered there and all quit simply because they couldn't put up with Cheyenne's BS any longer.  He'd go into people's posts that he disagreed with and edit their words for purely petty childish reasons, and then deny he'd done it.   He'd get into the most absurdly childish elementary school pissing matches with posters, and when they showed him up, resort to using his admin access to playing games trying to bully them.  He was nearly always wrong, yet instead of admit it, he'd try to big time people with the "it's my site" routine.

And then he wondered why nobody but a few dorky fools wanted to stay on his site any longer.

And now when the folks who started HSN are successfully doing it the right way he's acting insufferably pissy, paranoid and resentful about it.  Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Not my site there... I am the admin period and it it is still going with the same members that have been coming for years... a nice happy family unlike some here... obviously you have not been around for some time.  You are cracking me up. You gave yourself a away! You still create lies just because you were made a fool of for your trolling posts.  You were run off the forum by requests from others! Talk about someone that is bitter... LOL
