IU After Game Bars?

IU After Game Bars?

Heading down to the Hoosier-Badger game in two weeks. Haven't been to IU in 20 years. Can anyone recommend good post-game bars? I understand a lot of them are on or near Kirkwood. Thanks for any advice. Looking forward to walking around the beautiful campus again.

I think anyone coming in has to hit Nicks English Hut on Kirkwood.  If you want a good steak before hand head past the Courthouse one block an go to Janko's Little Zagreb.  There is a good Irish Bar around the corner from Janko's too, the Irish Lion I believe, which is another good place to eat and have a beer.

I personally would leave the Car where you can and make "The Walk" back to Yogi's for a bit and then head to Nick's on Kirkwood.

I graduated in 2003, but make it down a few times a year. It's kind of shocking how some of the bars have changed so much even in that time. Bar Hop if you have the time and tolerance.

-Kilroys has nearly tripled in size.
-Sports had a major remodel a few years ago.
-Bluebird added another section when I was still there.
-The Video Saloon is an underrated spot and did a big expansion. Worth checking out.
-The Big Red Liquors prob have changed dramatically in 2 decades. It's like Christmas for Drunken Adults in there. Stock up there, the one on College/Walnut is a sight to see.

As always... if you're looking to go wild, a Hairy Bear at Bears is an option (Note: no guarantee that you remember the night and/or make it back to your hotel after a Hairy Bear but a story or 2 afterwards is virtual lock).

Need a Hangover Cure:
-Uptown Cafe
-The Runcible Spoon
-Bloomington Bagel Company

Does the Irish Lion still serve those half yards and yards of beer? They looked like bongs with that beer racing down the stem at you!

We used to have freaterntiy sorority socials there in the 80's. Oh the stories! Good food also.

Thanks for the helpful replies. Since the parking issue has been raised, what do you recommend? There is a large lot beside the stadium. If I arrive at 9 am, do I have a good chance of getting a spot there? What is the cost? Where else might I park? Fully intend to leave the car wherever I park and walk around Campus and the Kirkwood area after the game.

If you're getting there that early, I'd either park in the southernmost portion of the grass lot south of the stadium (where the kids tailgate), or even on the street south of the rail line (11th or 12th streets).  That way, you can easily walk to the stadium, and then down to Kirkwood bars, or town square bars, if that's your thing.
