Conveniently, the only emails lost on that server. Sure, they totally lost them. Whatever the equivalent of that is to someone standing at a shredder with it's chute aimed at an open fire. I guess just "delete".

I'm sure it was just an accident. rolleyes

What if one of us loses an email from the IRS? Think it'd be no big deal?

"My computer crashed, but it was just your email Mr IRS Agent."

Romper room material. Child's play. Embarrassingly sad.

Kind of like the 18 min of erased tape from the Nixon Watergate scandal.

Yea, only the equivalent of a lot more than 18 minutes, and far more disturbing.

Guess if you can't bring up Bush, move on to Nixon lol.

But hey. What difference does it make?

I find it amusing that Dems say, "no biggie". We all know if the roles were reversed, they would be pounding the pavement and screaming bloody murder.

Ha ha, this is like facebook now. Teddy - great pollution man. I bet this wins your next election.

The "IRS scandal" - if it occurred - I doubt you will find anyone not wanting an IRS employee to fry. You guys are so lost, you now believe the Dems love the IRS, somehow. That's pretty bent.

Would you like to take a long, involved journey into previous IRS scandals which no one suffered from which were originated by Republican Presidents?

Just ask. It's so easy to find, even you guys could.

Great work today, Teddy. Basically, from what I see so far, you may have run quite a few excellent people off the board for a while.

Which then, of course, leaves us with ..............well............

You.

It was Nixon's personal secretary.  Hardly comparable.  But beside the absurdity of resignation, I certinaly don't blame anyone for being suspicious.  If it was a republican administration I would be screaming cover up.  I see no reason why the shoe being on the other foot changes anything.  But, remember the "rape and murder" in Benghazi.  Maybe it would be smart to allow some time for information to be firmed up.

To me the lost email excuse is a great test of who is simply liberal and who puts their party before the country.

So if I have a difficult time believing it (having seen ZERO information on this) but wanting to wait for some confirming information whatdoes that make me if I am not ready to call for impeachment----AGAIN (fr those of you counting this is what, number 20 on the list of impeachable offenses (according to conservatives, but killing 10,000 people for a lie is NOT).

Actually it is more into the 6 figures, deaths that is.........and it was less the lie in its essential sinfulness but more -  it was a crime.

This little parade of deflection is as predictable as it is comical. Of course there's nothing to see here people. We act like we distrust the government, but by golly sometimes they get it right. Like someone said earlier, Nixon times ten thousand.

Actually, no one said that earlier. I just made it up. That's the thing around here, right? My great aunt was a whispering witch from Russia, terrifying Nazis troops in her plywood plane.

Emails lost. Sorry Senore, this here animal has bite-proof ankles. Ain't going away. But by all means totally defend the guy you claim to dislike. Deny any malice of forethought here in this particular situation. With the IRS. Campaign on, so to speak.

And no TeddyBridge. They weren't lost. They were destroyed.

Remind you of anything?

Or do you possess a memory?

Have you really invested time in this "scandal"? Tell the truth.

Interesting.

You boys just wasted our time with your bitter takes on another poster instead of actually addressing the situation of what originated the emails; the loss of any identifiable preferences in the original claims generating this awesome "problem" which actually never even occurred. I could go on with how incredibly lame this entire enterprise is and was - it is a long list of FOX failure and resultant "led by the nose" Republican desperation.

But ripping a strip out of Senore's post count is simply more relevant to you all, lol. And pointing out how mean he is when he is "condescending", lol.

And you wonder why I "condescend", lol.

You couldn't make this **** up.

What is astounding is the combination of the height of  hypocrisy with total lack of self awareness.  YOU started complaining about post volume by another poster, jeeter!

In fairness, I did not see that comment directed at you val.  As you claim, you offered a wait and see rather than a defense.

Re: Lost Emails: Post Rating (5 votes)

Have we completely lost focus on what the original subject was in this situation?  Over 300 conservative organizations attempting to gain tax exempt status by intentionally lying (is that a redundant term anymore when speaking of conservative organizations?) about their intention to campaign for specific candidates which is specifically prohibited.  300  organizations attempting to overwhelm the review system through sheer volume.  Every one of those was re-reviewed and determined to be absolutely ineligible for tax exempt status yet got it anyway.  And your outrage is about whether anyone was actually trying to catch them?  Especially after they publicly announced their intention to do exactly what they did.

That is the equivalent of getting upset at the police for trying to stop a gang that has publicly declared its intention to rob every bank in the city then whining because the head investigator consulted on what steps should be taken to prevent the events from happening.

It is her JOB to stop tax fraud.  The Tea Party was committing tax fraud.  So now it is ok to commit felonies as long as you're conservative and are against Obama?  Would your reaction be the same if it had been 300 liberal organizations?  You absolutely would be screaming "impeachment" and "favoritism" and "felonies, tax evasion, cheating" and you would be absolutely right.  But the fact that 300 plus conservative organizations were allowed to lie and cheat and commit felonies is apparently perfectly acceptable to you.  Color me not surprised that you have a double standard when it comes to cheating and lying.

To try and claim the e-mails were "lost" if there was indeed collusion is a crime regrdless of political orientation.  It is called interfering into an investigation, destruction of evidence, and obstruction of justice.  I am trying to get caught up with this story as I have not read any of the articles up to this point, but I fully expect any proof of this happening to be pursued diligently.  But lets not forget why the investigation was required in the first place.

Because conservatism cannot survive without lying and cheating and deception and a complete disregard for anything resembling actual morality or honor.  It is nothing but a means to screw the common man for the benefit of a few. Today's Conservatism in a nutshell.

I will have more on the e-mails themselves as I get educated on the situation.but I felt we lost complete sight of the REAL atrocity here.

Re: Lost Emails:

Focusing on strictly the e-mail situation.  If this was a cover up attempt or an outright lie, that would mean there wasn't actually a computer crash, right?  That would be faked or a lie.  Yet there are e-mails form that time period in 2011 mentioning teh computer crash and requesting assistance in retreiving as much of that information as possible.  Remember, at that time no one was aware of any of this incident, that attempt to defraud the US by the conservatives or any specific efforts to detect that fraud.  This effort was actually captured in e-mails that WERE turned over to the committee.  Ihave a silly question.  If the committee had e-mails referencing a computer crash and loss of e-mails, why did not ONE member of the committee even notice it, mention it or ask a question about what might still be missing?  Why is this event a suprise to them?  Does that make any sense at all to you?

Defenders of Lerner point to emails they say show she tried in earnest to get her emails back.

“There were some documents in the files that are irreplaceable. Whatever you can do to help, is greatly appreciated,” Lerner wrote on July 19, 2011 in an email to someone helping her with her crashed computer.

That’s not likely going to appease conservatives that a conspiracy isn’t afoot, particularly because the time period for which the emails are missing is exactly when the IRS began singling out conservative groups.

Koskinen himself even admitted to POLITICO that there’s only so much the agency can retrieve on the Lerner emails: only emails she sent to other IRS staff, not emails she may have sent to other agencies.

“Any email in this gap period she sent outside [the agency] without a copy of anybody inside [the agency] we would not have,” he said.
