Sounds like good news to me. I wouldn't want Mr. 41-9 to have changed TOO much. cool

A player booted off the team thinking he's "mean" doesn't bother me.  If the friction with Grantham stuff were true, then I'd be a little nervous.

I like that CBP is still nasty. I have never bought the "Nice Bobby" routine. Some of his players might find him a bit flinty, but none of them say he is unfair.

Sounds like he wanted to be pacified to me and did not wanna be pushed to his maximum capabilities... Yeah, better both sides moved on.

Did anybody really think that Petrino was ever going to become Mr. Nice Guy.  He never portrayed himself as such.  He has claimed to be a changed man in regards to his job hopping and general dishonesty but he is always going to be Bobby M Fling Petrino on the field.  I don't really think we would want him to change that anyhow.  Some players will love while others will hate it.  I'm not the biggest supporter of his return but this is definitely sour grapes coming from Brooks.  Strong style was more of a father figure compared to Petrino's drill sergeant demeanor.  Some players weren't going to take that change well.

The only worrisome thing in this article is whether or not the friction between Petrino and Grantham is true.   That can't be good for the defense and doesn't ease my concerns about Grantham.  Hopefully this is either overblown or false.

Most know how I feel about some things concerning Coach P.  However, this one is pretty sad.  If you play football and you can't handle getting cussed out...just stick to playing Madden.  Seriously.  I got cussed out all the time, even when I was playing Pee Wee.  I bet Petrino called him fat and it hurt his feelings.

I posted this in the other thread on the same topic:

Everything I have heard from former players about Petrino is he is a hardass, but he makes sure everything is perfect. The way he teaches to study, play, and focus are second-to-none, but don't expect Faith to be the first of his three F's

Some of your best of friends and/or coaches go at it regularly. Hell, Coach Hayden Fox and his defensive coordinator Luther Van Dam feuded all the time.tongue

No lie. I tried to turn the corner as a 90 pound, 12 year old running back and got blasted out of bounds by a 130 pound linebacker. The assistant coach came over... I thought to help me up, and proceeded to calling me a ***** for not lowering my shoulder enough. It's wasn't uncommon to get a tongue lashing in optimist football. I agree. If you can't take getting cussed out as a college player, you don't need to be playing football... PERIOD.

Bobby was told not to change on the field by Jurich himself. Bobby being responsible for his disloyalty was the issue. I expect him to be ***** ****** Bobby Petrino. That is why he wins.

Whatever. Show me all the players jumping ship. There weren't many at all. I actually figured there would be.

Ugh I hope the stuff about Grantham isn't true. I really never understood the hire when names like Tyrone Nix, Ron Zook, Gene Chizik, and Randy Shannon were being tossed around as Bedford's replacement. Georgia fans were extremely unhappy with him and weren't sad in the least to see him go. Handing him a $1 million a year contract after producing mediocre results with exceptional talent down there was a head scratcher for sure.

Our own Tom Jurich said that the media would pile on leading up to the season. You can expect plenty of this until about the FSU game. If UL is undefeated going into that gamet his will be a distant memory.
