Re: Recruiting...

Clemson has had a bunch of good recruiting classes. The problem they've had is losing some head scratching game every year that pretty much derails their season.

This is true, but they have cranked it up a notch this year. They are killing it in recruiting.

Recruiting rankings mean very little now. It will be real interesting a week or two before SIGNING DAY.

Of course they mean something, and recruiting can have a momentum of its own. Teams have been signing recruits earlier and earlier. This isn't the 90's anymore, where FSU signs 15 5 stars on signing day. Heck, FSU already has 13 recruits committed and is pushing for more.

Their recruits have a very high average star rating, I wouldn't expect them to drop much at all as signing day comes along. Their star average is neck and neck with FSU's.

I think you're chasing UNC, Duke, FSU, Clemson, Miami, VT, UVA and possibly Syracuse

I think it'd be unreasonable for any of us Cards fans to expect much on the recruiting trail at this stage in the game. I'm not expecting much until the recruits actually see Petrino's product in action again. If Louisville can win 9 games this year and be competitive against Clemson and FSU then I think we'll see the spike in recruiting that we've been expecting with the ACC move.

Clemson's 2013 losses were FSU and at South Carolina
Clemson's 2012 losses were at FSU and South Carolina

Only 2 schools have beaten them the past 2 seasons, and neither is a head scratcher.  Since that loss to West Virginia, they have turned the corner from inconsistent to simply a top-10 program.

True, and in the same time they've beaten LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Auburn and won 22 games. Any UofL fans who have to take shots at Clemson to make themselves better are just Turds.

Not about being classy, its about recognizing facts.  I'm going to that Clemson game ready for my team to beat that @ss, but they've been plenty good.

Bobby can make scrubs into all-pros. Charlie left the cabinet cabinet full, so this should be fun :)

Well, it's early right now. Plenty of time for that to change.

Just how bad is it?

Florida beat South Carolina 44-11 in the 2012-13 season and we all know what happened to the Gators in the Sugar Bowl

NVM, I just went and looked it up. ( Speaking of looking it up, they still show UMD with the ACC on the conference rankings instead of UofL, rather annoying. )

That said, you only have 8 commits, so there is zero reason to panic, especially if Petrino is getting the players he wants.

Some of our fans don't get it. This is July and class rankings in football mean very little. Louisville beat the crap out of Florida yet has NEVER been close to recruiting at their level. Petrino almost played for the NC, if Bush does not get hurt, and never cracked the top 25 in rankings. If the coach gets players he needs and can develop that is all that matters. What some so-called internet recruiting guru's opinion means nothing.

Don't mind TheOnlyVariable, he really only likes to b**ch.  Heck, his signature "Put me on ignore!" really tells the whole tale.  He told me once that there was absolutely NO WAY we'd ever end up in the ACC and currently owes me a beer for it.  As far as trolls go though, he's mostly harmless.

Hatters gon' hat.
