I second this. Nice to read posts from other school's fans who are not trolling and who actually bring something to the board. Love the ACC brotherhood!

I'm in. So far the fans from other ACC schools have been great. After putting up with the childishness from the WVU Err fans and the stupid blewies in Lexingtown for all these years, it's refreshing to associate with people who understand that rivalries don't have to mean the fans destroy each other.

Thank you for this post, because ALL of the ACC fans have been nothing but great!  It's tremendous knowing we are getting into a great conference, but the icing on the cake has been the welcome mat that all of these great fans have rolled out for us.  It has been so refreshing and I look forward to our many road trips down the road.

The difference is night and day. We've gone from entering a conference with a fan base who crapped on us from our first days to one with extremely confident winners, with no ax to grind.

Night and day.

I know fans of the other schools in the ACC have no idea what its like being on the outside of this conference stuff like we have for so long so I hope they can realize how appreciative we truly are to be joining such a great conference with so many great schools. It really does mean a lot to us when you guys come over here and welcome us. Thank you!

No more WVU idiots?  I learned several new words on my one trip to Morganhole...well, it was actually one word...but there are so many ways to use it!  biggrin

Thank you, the Louisville fans I've enjoyed interacting with on here, for being such an enthusiastic, respectful, and intriguing online collective. I was excited from day one of it being announced your school was coming in to the league and watching the 11 a.m. press conference has made the reality even more fantastic. I regret I wasn't a constant member of message boards like I am now when PITT and Syracuse were announced as partners because I would have liked to welcome them both in as wholeheartedly as I have your Cardinals. Regardless, I hope this means stability is here for our conference for a while because the ACC brotherhood was a great thing I experienced growing up while traveling to various campuses, from Chapel Hill to Charlottesville to Tallahassee, as Clemson played throughout the league.
Wal-Mart fans and trolls have corroded a lot of the interactions people sharing pride in and love of a school try to have with outsiders now by spewing their vitriol in threads and constantly criticizing coaches, players, etc. (I have to confess I've made my own share of negative posts and have let a few comments from others anger me into generalizing how all fans of a school may behavefrown); but today marks a sea change for me since out of all the gloom and doom of conference realignment rumors; networks and cable subscriber numbers being tossed around to prove which set of teams will make more than everyone else in the long run; revenue figures presented by schools in athletics proudly while the costs of obtaining higher education continue to inflate to prices many students won't be able to afford without achieving lifelong and crushing debt; scandals involving school leaders, coaches, and players behaving badly with subsequent cover-ups; talk of unions forming to pay players before they ever make it as a professional; and so on, I can sit here and feel good about knowing I have another great team like the Louisville Cardinals on our schedule to play soon. So the pleasure is all mine because I can focus on the competition level of ACC match-ups getting that much better starting today...excited

And as an aside to this already way too long post, I wanted to put my internet troll hatdevil on just for a second to spread a little mischief by welcoming your program into the SEC East Haters group we already had going on in the conference with Georgia Tech, Clemson, Miami, and Florida State. Now, you, too, can join us ACCers who have to deal with those annoying fans of teams from the SEC Least (I'm talking about you Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and now Kentucky) by continuing to do your part in beating your in-state rivals annually. Clemson, unfortunately, has faltered on our end in football and baseball recentlybanghead but history suggests we will get back on top of the Roaches soon, probably after the Ol' Ball Sack retires to play golf full-timetongue, and quiet our SEC brethren who prance around in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and families bragging incessantly about their accomplishmentsredface...

Welcome again, Cards. Thanks for letting me hang out on your board. 2 months is the next countdown now because I can't wait to cut the t.v. on and spend the evening watching you take on Miami in your 1st outing as an ACC squad...cool

Let me get this straight: You're saying we will join the haters of teams like UK?

Gosh, man, you ask a lot.

But - oh, well, OK! tongue

Like Omar Vizquel was asked by a young Giants reporter when he signed with them. "Omar, will you hate the Dodgers?"

Omar then asked: "Am I supposed to hate the dogers?"

Reply: "Yes, with all your heart."

Omar: "OK. I hate them!"  tongue

One of the worst performances I've ever seen Clemson put on was against Kentucky in the 2006 Music City Bowl. disbelief SEC East match-ups usually cause lots of indigestion...tongue

Re: A big thank you to the ACC fans

Since you mentioned it, will the end-of-season ACC-SEC-East clash have a trophy, or get played-up like the ACC-Big Ten basketball challenge?

If Clemson, FSU, and the mighty Cards take care of business, that's a win for the conference right there.

Nothing official in the works as far as I know but doesn't each rivalry series present its own award? We have the Hardee's Trophy for what's dubbed The Palmetto Bowl...

If Georgia Tech beats Georgia, we beat both Georgia and South Carolina, Louisville beats Kentucky, and Florida State beats Florida, I will personally drive to Louisville and hang out with anyone there who wants to meet and celebrate the victories!excited

Re: A big thank you to the ACC fans

I assumed every intra-state rivalry had a trophy.  Ours is the Governor's Cup, currently, and in the foreseeable future in safe hands.

I just thought it could be fun for Swofford and Slive to exchange an end-of-year conference trophy, like the Buckeye Beer Stein filled with Big Ten tears, or something like that.
