If you could only win one of the games next year, would it be

...the Cats in hoops, or FSU in football?

Well thank goodness I don't have to choose, but for me, I think it'd have to be FSU in football. What a statement it would make for our program to beat the defending champs our first year in the conference.

If only one, FSU, no doubt. I dislike Cal and would love to beat his NBA All Star team, but like was said, the FSU game would be bigger overall.

If choosing only one, it would have to be FSU in football. That would be a profound statement to our conference as well as the rest of the country that we are making an impact at our new home.

The UK BB game always takes special importance but the football would be BIG.

This. I'm a practical person and don't like to let emotion guide me. Beating FSU in football would be tremendous and would probably mean we are a serious national contender.

Winning an out of conference basketball game against UK is nice, but it just doesn't matter like a conference football game against the defending national champion.

It depends on the national implications. The winner of the the UK/UL  regular season game has gone on to at least an elite eight and further since Cal has been in the Commonwealth. So, it really is a gauge as to how good the basketball teams are moving forward.

If FSU and Louisville are undefeated going into that game, then some national championship implications could be in play in well for both teams -certainly for FSU.

Well, I guess some of you can't get over your UK inferiority complex. Beating FSU in football means a lot more than beating UK in a non-con basketball game. No contest.

Agree. Beating FSU means way more.

Has to be FSU and honestly I would say I would want to beat UK in football more than basketball, just because that the regular season in football is so important. It would be more fair to compare say if we met UK in the NCAA tournament again which game would you want to win more, but then the answer would obviously be UK for me anyway.

Cats in hoops. That is a streak that needs to come to an end.

Fsu, not even close. Every football game counts, and anyone hoping to make the ACC title game from the coastal division has to go through FSU.

If you compared it to an elite 8 or final 4 game vs uk, then maybe you're getting closer to being a close call. But a December bball game??

We are not UK so we will never have to pick only one game to win. Go ask 'em down the road. We're too busy winning here at the University of Louisville.

200% FSU in football. Is this a serious question?

That basketball game is completely insignificant. First of all, it's a regular season game. Secondly, they cheat so the outcome is fixed, therefore meaningless.

I wouldn't try to tell that to their basketball team.  That's why, even though I am a football guy first, it's close for me.  Like someone else said, we need to win the basketball game bad. And anyway, it was a hypothetical...

I will ask if you are serious when you say a game in any sport with UK is insignificant.  If you really believe that, you are in the 1 percentile of Card fans who feel that way.

My mind understands the majority of answers as FSU.  But if u hate kensucky the way we hate dook, then ask yourself whom would you rather not lose to so you don't have to hear their mouths?  I think you will change your answer.  If kensucky were in the ACC would that be the swinging factor too?

If we beat FSU we could be 9-0 with BC, Notre Dame, and UK left.  The UK basketball game won't even be on the fans' radar at that time.
