RE: Josh Brent 110 MPH
driving 110+ mph when drunk is the definition of a drunk stupid fool. Some kids just never learn a lesson. He's going to jail for awhile, and his future is not good. What an absolute shame. Makes you embarrassed he wore the orange and blue.

Re: Josh Brent 110 MPH
It's a bad deal. He made a really stupid decision and now he and his family and the Brown family will have to live with the consequences. No program is exempt from this type of thing. Jamar Smith is lucky that Brian Carlwell wasn't killed the night Jamar made his stupid decision to drive. I hope no family anywhere has to get that late night phone call, but .............

Re: Josh Brent 110 MPH
i don't know, at least he was drunk. brown was supposedly sober and got into the car of a drunk driver, didn't put on a seatbelt, and let brent drive over 100mph. not too bright either. Roachditka wrote: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/...27610--nfl.html
Brent quite the idiot!

Re: Josh Brent 110 MPH
Were you there, do you know how it went down? Sure, Brown shouldn't have gotten in the car with him, duh. But to pretend that once in the car, Brown was going to force him to slow him down, is pretty nuts. Maybe you haven't been around many drunk people, but they don't tend to think very rationally or listen to the advice of others. Shoulda, woulda, coulda's in a scenario like this are pointless. 313Illini wrote: i don't know, at least he was drunk. brown was supposedly sober and got into the car of a drunk driver, didn't put on a seatbelt, and let brent drive over 100mph. not too bright either.

Might be in most instances but do you want your buddy to get into trouble. It's a tragic situation for sure. Both used poor judgement. illinistifler wrote: Guy code. I cannot recall ever telling a buddy who was driving to slow down when I was young

brown not wearing a seat belt tells us all we need to know about his thoughts on brent driving too fast. STLINI wrote: Were you there, do you know how it went down? Yes, I'm sure you know exactly how everything went down based on that, or at least you think you do. 313Illini wrote: brown not wearing a seat belt tells us all we need to know about his thoughts on brent driving too fast.

didn't matter how it went down. One guy dead; the other guy's life has been trashed. STLINI wrote: Yes, I'm sure you know exactly how everything went down based on that, or at least you think you do.

Re: Josh Brent 110 MPH
Quite honestly the best thing for Brent is for them to throw the book at him. He needs to be made an example of what will happen if you commit crimes.
1. A message needs to be sent that pro athete or not this kind of dangerous behavior can't be tolerated. No special treatment or being able to get away with it. It would send a message both to the youth in Bloomington IL as well as other players in the pros and college.
2. Brent has a problem and in order to save his life and perhaps salvage a career he needs to suffer the consequences that hopefully would shock him into changing his life around.
