DIA football survey

DIA football survey

I got a football survey from the DIA today.  Looks like they went to all season ticket holders.

Told em what I thought.

- I go to games to watch a competetive ball club that can win games. Tailgating is 2nd but a far 2nd. I want to watch a winner.

- I'm probably not going to renew my season tix this year. 90% is the on-field product and the goober we have as a coach. 10% is due to family H.S. sports schedules in the fall.

- I expressed virtually no confidence in Beckman being able to right the ship. The prospect of 2-3 or more years of bowl-less football angers me to no end.

Fix the on field product meaning getting wins and to bowl games...Jan 1 or BCS bowl games and I'll get excited.

- Why was Tim Beckman hired? Never have gotten a good explanation.

Oh and lose the Gestapo/SS ushers at the games.  The minute the game ends they are salivating at the mouth to cuff and or taze people who dare to enjoy the atmosphere in a rare win or the post-game band performance.

My recent experience at Memorial Stadium was much different.  I traveled up from Atlanta for the Penn State game last year.  After the game, I hung around in the Stadium to soak up the atmosphere and take pictures.  I explained to 2 ushers why I was there.  They were both very accomodating, talking to me about my trip and thanking me for attending the game.

You are in the minority for sure. DIA ushers should be used as riot control. They are legendary in their people removal skills.

If I had to stand through last season at Memorial I'd want everyone to pack it in so I could get down to the local watering hole and drink my sorrows away. But I get what you're saying!

I'm glad you had a good experience.  It occurs to me that it should not be necessary for you to explain to anyone why you were there, since you had purchased a ticket for the right to be admitted to the stadium to view whatever entertainment might be presented.  I do know that others have been shooed out of the stadium even though the band is performing its post-game presentation.

Sadly, Papa Del's Pizza wasn't listed as a reason for attending games.  They rank above the product on the field (but below some of the other choices) as to why I'll be back for another season.

I also responded to the question about which way the program is headed that I believed that the program was trending down.
