on our staff as an on campus recruiter for the past year.
coached HS before that for a few years.

I viewed this hire as more of a recruiting hire than a coaching hire. Of course he has to be able to coach some, and having NFL experience should help there, but WR coach is a spot that you need a recruiter in IMO. Hopefully he showed enough as the on-campus recruiter to prove worthy of a coaching position. Only time will tell on this one, not much to go off of. He is very passionate about the Illini based on things he's said and posted through twitter. Hopefully it translates on the recruiting trail.

Add the talent of John Wright, Brandon Lloyd, and Greg Lewis along side Davy and Mike - Illini of the past could definitely hold their own. Thanks for the memoirs guys !
