Re: Beckman's leagacy?
TBD. i was hyper-critical after the LaTech game. I'd like to see him turn it around. unfortunately for TB we could improve and still be 2-10 this year.

RE: Beckman's leagacy?
He will be fired with the lowest winning percentage in Illinois history. Not an easy feet unfortunately.
Mike Thomas, a MAC coaches best friend!

Re: Beckman's leagacy?
Unfortunately, this hire will be the equivilent of Notre Dame's George O'Leary hire. I doubt Beckman even had to lie on his resume due to Thomas' desperation during the hiring process. Beckman will be seen as one of the worst coaches ever to be in charge of a D1 school in modern history.

Gimme a break. He's been here one year and you are talking about his legacy?

Re: Beckman's leagacy?
Its a bit premature to use the term legacy. However, I will say I havent quite seen a complete meltdown like this year before. Not only was our season horrendous, but we are losing commits everyday it seems. I knew this would happen, we were the only high D1 offer when they verballed, but it seems like as soon as they get another high D1 offer tgey take it. Plus we seem to be losing coaches that havent been fired, and they didnt take a job considered as a promotion. Looks as if they just want out of town. About the only thing this staff has left to do here is get us on some type of probation.

Re: Beckman's leagacy?
It will never help anything if you keep posting this sh!t. Players and parents read this crap. You need to just STFU and get a life away from these boards.

And in terms of resume, Tim Beckman isn't in the Top 100 worst coaches ever to take the helm of a D1 program. In terms of success, well, we'll see. He's still got Mike Locksley to pass.

*-season includes games later vacated due to NCAA sanctions; actual records were 35-2 in 1995-96 and 38-2 in 2007-08. NCAA Tournament appearances were also vacated in 1996 and 2008.

Re: Beckman's leagacy?
Easily one of the most disasterous hires in recent college football -- quite possibly the final bullet in the head to the zombie program that Illinois has become.
U of Chicago here we come.

Beckman wasn't even the worst hire last year, Ellis Johnson at Southern Miss was and it isn't even close.
