What has happened to Cal Basketball?

What has happened to Cal Basketball?

As a fan of all Pac 12, I have followed Cal basketball for a while and I have been sad to see the decline.  Also a decline in football.  Are you guys giving up on sports?  Your current president does not seem to be much of a supporter and I thin the fan base and alumni have lost interest. Looking for honest conversation of what has changed the tune up there?

Hmmm... just how long have you been a fan of the Pac-12 and by what measure do you think Cal basketball has been on the decline.  The last six season (Monty's tenure) was the most successful six year stretch in Cal history.  There were regular post-season appearances and a Pac-12 championship.  The returning team has some really talented players and, if you have been following Cal basketball, you can't help but be impressed with coach Martin.  I haven't noticed a drop off of excitement especially when (if you really follow Pac-12 basketball and are not just a troll trying to smear the program) Cal beat number one Arizona in front of a sold out stadium and the fans rushed the floor.  Cal's season ended on Cobbs' shot that could have gone the other way in a loss to SMU.

Last six seasons: four NCAA berths, two NIT's, and 0.644 winning percentage.  That's better than ALL other teams in the Pac-12.  But I guess you already knew that since you follow the Pac-12 so carefully and are not just here to slam the program by asking pointedly misguided questions.  Just an honest response to your honest question.

Yes, Cal basketball is in far better shape than Arizona.

Over that six season span, yes, and, boy, that emoticon really hurt.  You're so cool, if I delete my post will you be my friend?

There were more than enough FUs in that video to go around for everyone in this thread. Y'all make me sad.

Sorry to bring you down, but I'm not sure what in this thread has made you feel this way.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who takes umbrage at the "when did you stop beating your wife?" tone of the original poster.  I'm sure there is a sub-culture of fans who visit other fans websites to smear their programs, perhaps hoping to gain a recruiting advantage.  I don't want to leave these posts unchallenged, but if that is not in keeping with your philosophy of this site, let me know and I will disappear.

As for Yogi, I can agree that Arizona is at the top of the Pac-12 right now, but I can make the reasonable argument that Cal had the best run of any school over that period, and I can do it without the "crazy" emoticon.

Well, the OP is clearly trolling, and I hate it when my kids fight :)
