SC 3 point favorite

SC 3 point favorite

As far as I'm concerned the Cal football season is over except for the lingering question of Tedford's fate. However, there is the vicarious opportunity to follow the SC-ucla game. Apparently, SC opens as a 3 point favorite. Except for the history of the last several years. I see it as a pick'em game with ucla actually being a slight favorite with a better defense and lots of offensive power with Hundley and Franklin.

For ucla fans, this is a one game season. For Mora. it's his whole season. If he loses -- even with a winning season -- I don't think ucla fans will consider the season a success.

I hate to put a jinx on the Bruins, but I'm picking ucla.

Me 2, **** SC

I went down to the beach and saw ki-ki, and she was all like "errrhh".  And, I'm like "Whatever!"

Re: SC 3 point favorite

Haven't checked on who's hurt and not playin' on either SC or UCLA, but assuming both squads are healthy, I'll take SC.  I think they'll beat the spread; too many race horses.

However, if UCLA can put pressure on, or better yet, get to Matt Barkley, as Stanford did, they'll have a very good chance of winning.
Go PAC12

Dan has SC beating the spread (barely)

Dan's picks for the week include his analysis of SC-ucla. He likes Marquise Lee and Barkley to beat the ucla defense. Redd and Woods are both hobbled by injuries.

This will be a test of the ucla offense. Franklin is amazing, and Hundley has done a nice job and put up big numbers, but I don't recall seeing Hundley so far winning a game in the pressure situation. You have to give Barkley the edge on that kind of situation -- even if he hasn't always been successful in that pickle.

It's at the Rose Bowl, but I really don't see any home field advantage.

It will also be a test of Mora. Mora has his fans, but he needs a win to cement his relationship with the ucla community and to get respect from SC. I'm a little disappointed in Mora in that here is the big game of the ucla season. It really is the ultimate test of whether Mora will be judged a success this year, and he continues to take the "it's just another game" meme. Ok. You have to take the season game by game, but why not go with it? It the most exciting week of the year in Los Angeles football, and both Mora and Kiffin are playing it down. Their respective fans will not be playing it down, especially if ucla does not win.

Don't really know what to expect, but if you think it's going to be close, why not take the points?

Also the "Big Game" next week at the Rose Bowl.

Go Bruins!

Good for UCLA...NOW the monopoly is officially over!

Respectable coach, no whining over Bush and sanctions, no newspaper ads...just good football.

Over joyed!!!

Very convincing demonstration by ucla. They're saying it was a heart stopper, but not really. ucla actually dominated. Lee had a good game, but Barkley was shut down from play one.

Don't know what's going to happen tomorrow when Madam AD meeting with Tedford, but the Mora model certainly is something to look at.
