Just wanted to drop by to compliment you on your effort last nite.  I thought your team played very well late into the game, even w all your injuries.
I thoght it would be a much easier win.  Let me tell you, your guys had me quite nervous for a long time!  My hat is off to you!

Thank you 14er

I have to say I watched it all, and was momentarily diluded into thinking we had a chance after our opening drive in the second half, but, our coach being the big brain he is, out-thunk himself and went away from running the left side (guess he figured the Ducks would make an adjustment).

You guys had better get healthy quickly because you are starting to look like WVU... all O and little D.

Re: Thank you 14er

If you guys had even an avg PAC 12 QB(not trying to insult AB either)last night you guys would have had a decent chance of keeping that game close and maybe even winning. AB played lights out first half. While he floats his throws he was accurate in the first half.

Your defense was awesome until you we're forced to play catch up.

Too bad both sides had so many injuries. Would have been nice to have everyone healthy for the game on both sides.

AB is above average... and surprisingly managed the game well

Even more surprising is the fact that he didn't start over Maynard all season.  I think he is a much better QB, and probably one of the best passers I've seen in the pac-12 all season.

Aside from telescoping a few passes(is that what you meant about floating it?), he was great.   He was dropping balls into coverage in ways I haven't seen anyone do in the pac-12.  Very nice touch, and deadly accurate.

He's probably the most accurate passer, I have seen at Cal since Aaron Rodgers, and I'm basing that on seeing him play in a lot of practices before coming into this game.

His main problems are, release, vision and velocity.  Vision and release can be improved.  Velocity isn't a deal breaker, especially not in college.  I thought his performance against Nevada was not very impressive, but after seeing this game, I have changed my mind on him.  He looked similar last week too.

I'm excited about Allan Bridgford.

I went down to the beach and saw ki-ki, and she was all like "errrhh".  And, I'm like "Whatever!"

I'm certainly no QB expert but I liked Bridgford even in spring.  One thing I have learned thouugh is that what can initially be encouraging can later be very discouraging.  Bridgford played with little pressure (sacked once?) and had a decent running game available.  Wonder what he'll do under more pressure and after opponents have studied his film.  All his coaches talk about his work ethic and that's a good sign.  Glad to see him getting reps now since this season is pretty much a wash.

I think one of the two elite eleven QBs starts next season, especially if Cal has a new coach.

Re: Thank you 14er

We have been all "O" and little "D" for a long time.

We feast on crappy teams defensively early in the season and then show our true selves later.

We will have to outscore everyone we play.

Like they say, "offense wins games and defense wins championships". Until we field a top notch team and a DC, we probably wont win that NC.
