RE: EDO A DOG
Since this is the last day of the signing period. I wonder if his letter of intent has already been sent in. Is there a deadline for that as well.

If CT tweeted about him the letter has to be in. Glad I was wrong. Go Dogs!

Holy jiminy.
I don't know whether casual fans are aware how many programs -- both power conference and upper crust mid-major -- offered this guy. He had maybe 20 offers, maybe more. Terry is unbelievable. Pay him whatever the ph vck he wants, please.

To get a commit from Edo while he got offers from schools like Creighton, Marquette, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Wichita State etc. is impressive for Terry. Well done. The talent appears like it's going to be there for the program to make a major move in the next couple years. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/b...Soma-Edo-120449

Is that even reliable because I thought coach aren't allowed to comment on a players commitment? That's exactly the reason...until the LOI is in the bag they CAN'T comment.

Re: EDO A DOG
Rivals and verbalcommits have already taken his offers off the board. I hate it when they do that, post-commit. But in addition to your list and copter's, I remember TAMU, Nebraska and Gonzaga offering Edo as well. So we beat the Big 10, SEC, and the Original Cinderella Story. Now it's time for me to commence hand-wringing about where the minutes are going to come from. --------------------------------------------- --- FresnoStater wrote: OldFigBBJ2 wrote: Holy jiminy.

Re: EDO A DOG
You hate to start making such grandiose predictions but I think it's possible, just not likely due to the brutal in-conference schedule. But the depth Terry has created in 16 months on the job (including a first and very abbreviated recruiting period which forced him to take dude from China) is utterly mind-boggling. Terry absolutely has created the depth necessary to implement a "40 minutes of hell" type full court pressuring gameplan, in which guys are giving 110% effort but stay in the game for only 4-5 minute blocks due to the exertion required. Couldn't do that last year with only 7 players (some only semi-legit) and no post presence. Terry is certainly closer this year but still no cigar. Next year he can run 10 high quality people full blast, full court, and has a human eraser in the paint to, as the term implies, erase press breaks. Unbelievable. I wonder whether others on this board agree or disagree that that is what Terry has structured this team to do, and whether that accurately describes his plan. Just judging how he has deployed people to date and his public comments, I think "40 minutes of hell", requiring great depth, is exactly what his plan is and has been. In sum, instead of predicting 30 wins I'll say this: commencing next year there should be utterly nobody with whom the Dogs cannot compete, unless idiots get in Upshaw's ear and he declares after this year. --------------------------------------------- --- jwillie4 wrote: OldFigBBJ2 wrote: Rivals and verbalcommits have already taken his offers off the board. I just hope we are able to keep Coach Terry, he could be one of the hottest coaching names in college basketball after next year. Please go to the football games and basketball games and buy tickets. The athletic program needs support.

Will be there Saturday for the Air Force game, and Sunday 1:00 p.m. for the LBSU basketball game. I believe that Terry's base pay is lower than Cleve's when he left. Gotta get that base pay north of $500K and I think the only way to persuade Boeh to take that step is fill the stands at the SMC.

Re: EDO A DOG
Great news! Terry is an amazing recruiter. Edo will give the Dogs a lot of versatlity. Next years squad should be competitive with UNLV and UNM.
The thing about Terry is that he is a good X and O's guy' as well. So, he gets more out of his talent than many coaches.
