How did we not get Kevin Nutt?

How did we not get Kevin Nutt?

...from Edison. Did he just want to leave town to be at CSU? The kid is blazing fast. Faster than Jalen Saunders was in high school.

sux, you nailed it.

Just because a local guy doesn't go to Fresno State some of these BB'rs automatically assume our coaches are phucking-up. I asked DeRuyter about this very thing. Sure there are times we lose a player to the "elsewhere" we would like to have, but there are times the player is just not the right fit for our program for a number of reasons.

What a fan sees dressed in Bulldog red down on the field come game-day is all which should matter and not that he had to come from some local High School out in the middle of a grape vineyard.

I don't know, I'm still partial to only recruiting Tibetan Sherpas, those guys can run up & down the field all day & not get tired! They also don't mind helping the coaches unload all the equipment, & when we play at high elevation MWC stadiums, they're already acclimated.

Excellent point FSB, especially for us playing a lot of games in the mountains. I am trying to assist in getting a recruiting pipeline to Outer Mongolia. I am only a Yak ride or two away from getting'r done. Another issue I ran into is our hot weather. What is being worked out is these Outer Mongolians will be housed at Shaver Lake. They will come down off the lake for class and practice and then right back-up the mountain for overnight.

I love following the local guys. You've read about them in the Bee for years and it's like you're already invested in their story. But everyone has gotta do what they gotta do and I trust CTD to get the best 'Dogs. Anyway, go watch Kevin blaze in the 100 finals in the State meet this weekend.

Although I agree with both Fang and FSB on the merits of recruiting Outer Mongolians and Sherpa's, too many of us fail to see the value of the Shaolin Monks.  One would have to look no further for a perfect example of discipline and commitment, but most importantly, they would be deadly in the red zone and over the middle.  If you have not had a chance to watch "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" you must do so.  It proves that these monks can "fly" over the middle and make acrobatic catches of the likes that have never been seen in college football.  To recruit these masters of flight would put Fresno State on the international map of college athletics(if there is one).  It would be absolutely ground breaking and would bring our recruiting to new heights that not even the SEC could claim.

Why can't we just stay in America and recruit? I hear that those Alaskan Eskimos are blazing fast, especially while playing hockey. I'm sure their athleticism translates to the football field. They are good with Huskies and some members of the Wolfpack. I also hear they don't like cowboys, broncos or wearing Trojans.

Best of luck to him this weekend.  Keep him hydrated!

"geeze" is correct, my friend.  Doesn't take much here anymore.
Who let the 'Dogs out?

What was dumb, we already had a thread on this in which his father said what was going on. Why dig this up again?

Kind of excited to see what local speedster will do at CSU. I think this kid is going to be something special for Rams.

Relax, Amigo.  It is the offseason and we don't have much to talk about, so instead we turn to the tangential and sophomoric jobs.

Re: How did we not get Kevin Nutt?

Nutt actually jumped to the Rams after twice committing to the Wolf Pack of Nevada.  Bulldogs were looking but not talking much……and Colorado State has a men's track program (Nevada does not have men's track and field…and Fresno State doesn't have much of a program)…..and Nutt is a national level track talent (that's how he end up there).  Nutt loved Fort Collins so did his parents…..the only down fall of playing for the Rams and coming from Fresno is…..the cost of travel for his parents to see him play  (rarely are the Rams on TV….at least not as often as the Bulldogs and Wolf Pack).  He should be a star for the Rams….if he can stick it out, being so far from home  (not all of them can make that adjustment).  Former Bulldog Tim Skipper closed the deal for the Rams…..causing Nutt to jump from the Pack in the last weeks before signing dead line.  Everybody wins some and everybody loses some (especially the mid-majors).

I saw the results of the state meet and Edison won the 400 meter relay but dq'ed with a lane violation.   Edison must have more than one sprinter.  I'm a Nevada fan-so how fast is Blake Wright?
