LOI thread.
First one is in. School hasn't announced yet but it's almost certainly Randon Knotts.

FINALLY got it.
Randon Knotts (S) was the first.
Knotts, who was a two-way player in high school, is expected to play safety for the Bulldogs. He is the younger brother of former University of Texas tight end D.J. Grant.
Colin McGuire (K) was the second.
McGuire was a two-time first-team All-District selection and two-time All-State honorable mention pick in high school. He holds Westwood's all-time record as he hit a 53-yard field goal as a senior. McGuire came to Fresno State last summer to compete in its kicking camp.

Two more National Letters of Intent are in and they are from Kingsburg nose guard Ryan Steele (Kingsburg HS) and Shingle Springs inside linebacker Jeff Camilli (Ponderosa HS).
Three offensive linemen have signed... Elijah Cox, David Patterson & Sean Rubalcava.

The Bulldogs have just added two wide receivers to their 2013 recruiting class. Welcome Devonn Brown from Riverside City College and Darrell Fuery out of Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, Calif.
Coach DeRuyter's comments on these two:
Brown had 10 touchdown catches last year and averaged 15.5 yards per catch at Riverside City College.
Head coach Tim DeRuyter on Brown and Fuery: "We're bringing in some real speed in Devonn Brown and Darrell Fuery. They are guys that have some big-time track speed."

Another Fresno prospect in Jaylen Ruiz (San Joaquin Memorial High School) has signed with the Bulldogs. Ruiz is a 6-3, 277-pound defensive end that played in the 2012 Cal State Bowl last December.
Defensive line coach Pete Germano on Jaylen Ruiz: "He is very athletic for his size as a 6-3, 270-pound plus kid that can move his body very well. Jaylen's a local kid who is excited to be a Bulldog and play in front of his friends and family."

Per ToS, Claudell Lewis, JC transfer (COS), is also in.
The Bulldogs just added a third defensive linemen to their 2013 recruiting class in defensive end Claudell Louis out of the College of the Sequoias.
An interesting note on Louis is that he was born in Haiti and grew up playing soccer. He moved to Florida in 2001.
Defensive line coach Pete Germano on Claudell Louis: ""His size and length will provide instant depth for us at the defensive end position. Claudell is a mature, responsible young man who will fit in very well with our defensive line and what we like to do up front in our 3-4."

In speaking of the 3 linebackers, Van Hook, Camilli and Stanley:
"The linebackers are physical and are three kids that fit the mold in terms of size and dimension that we want from linebackers in this defense. There is not a lot of physical development needed from these three and we expect them to come in and compete right away."
It's great to have guys be able to come in compete for playing time right away...
