If Pac 12 power Colorado is stealing from San Jose State it should make for another easy victory.

Wasn't going to be tough anyways since they lost their coach. It's unfortunate for the conference but SJSU is quickly returning to a bottom feeder. It was a desperate addition by the MWC and unnecessary now that Boise and SDSU have came back. I wouldn't be surprised if they're eventually dropped.

Damn, lets give it some time here people. Coach MAC did one hell of a job turning it around and they beat us the last time we lined up against them. If I'm not mistaken we have lost a few good recruits as well, not to mention one of our biggest recruiting tools in Tim McD..... They are coming off a top 25 season so lets let the chips fall as they may b4 declaring them a door mat like previous years.... Pretty sure they have a great QB coming back who could make it back to back top 25 teams.... Bulld0g8588 wrote:

Re: San Joser getting Poached
I scouted Severson and scrimmaged against Olugbode two years in a row(Valley Christian is in our playoff bracket) and let me tell you, I'm glad both of those guys aren't going to be in our conference. Severson is an absolute animal, and Olugbode is one in the long line of that family to be a force as well.
They won't be playing against us this year when we go to Boulder, so all good.

The offense SJSU uses is more condusive to a higher QB rating. More mid-range throws. Ours utilizes a lot of quick bubble screens that often go under 10 yards, sinking Carr's YPA. And none of their WRs hold a candle to Davante Adams.

Wow... is this Asstec Mesa or the Barkboard? This thread has "DOUCHE" written all over it. Let's see how things play out in 2013 before we start throwing stones. We are returning most of the same key talent that got us to 11 wins and an AP post-season top-21. What did your guys do in 2012? I watched that crap bowl game of yours, by the way. San Joser would have made your kids look silly.

Re: San Joser getting Poached
PS - As I recall, Fresno had a small 2-star class in 2012 after DeRuyter came in. What was it... 14-15 signees? Perhaps you didn't have more scholarships to give, or perhaps your HC held some schollies back for his first full recruiting effort in 2013. Either way, your team showed improvement last year after a 4-9 season that included a loss at home to a five-win San Jose team in 2011. Point is, things sure weren't looking good for Fresno this time last year, and yet you still had an okay year.
Unlike your 2012 team, though, ours is coming off 11 wins and a top-25 ranking. With that in mind, how much do Scout recruitment stats two weeks before nat'l signing day tell us about upcoming on-field performance? By your logic, Fresno should have gone backward last year, given DeRuyter's truncated recruiting effort in 2012.
Also, how much do any of you really know about Ron Caragher? Unlike DeRuyter during his first season at Fresno, Caragher has previous head coaching experience. Moreover, we are returning most of our key talent from a top-25 squad, and Mac had an excellent recruiting class in 2012 (much better than your 2012 class). In short, our cupboard is by NO MEANS bare, and we are all-around in much better shape heading into the 2013 season than Fresno was at this time last year.
Man... some of you guys are sounding awfully cocky for a school that was unranked in 2012 and got embarrassed in its bowl game against a so-so SMU team.

I am rooting for SJS to be great so when Fresno defeats SJS it means something. Go Spartans how ever it is you have to go.

The big difference between Hoser and Fresno is the overall health of the program. Facilities, money, amenities, talent level, and consistency. Fresno won the MWC last year, a conference SJSU would have had 2/3 losses in last year. SJSUCKS wouldn't have sniffed top-25 votes in the MW. SJSU has a good season once in a decade; Fresno has a bad season once in a decade. It took the worst season in Fresno State history to end your 24 game losing streak in Fresno. Losing a head coach is devastating to a program with a foundation of toothpicks.

As much as I love Carr and am very glad he is our QB, there is a ton of room for improvement... I mean takeaway our Drastic change in DEFENSE and how many wins do you think we get last year? I am really thinking and hoping CARR puts it all together and gets some protection and eventually turns himself into a 1st round pick. As of right now I would say he is a second day pick. Like I said his O-Line rarely does him favors but he has a ton of things to improve upon. One of those things that he doesn't need any work on is leadership and that is why I wouldn't trade him for anyone next year(besides Johnny Football).

Congrats bulldog8588.. You get the stupid post of the day award.. Who would they have lost to in the mwc? I would love to hear? The WAC was rated higher than the MWC last year.. We beat two MWC teams, including one of the co champs.. If USU and Sjsu were in the MWC this last season, they would have met for the CCG.. SJSU beat SDSU, Navy, La Tech, BYU, Bowling Green.. Please enlighten me with who they would have lost to???

You park in 2 feet of mud, virtually zero tailgaiting (with the exception of a couple dozen students taking beer bongs and smoking weed), and you enter a nearly empty stadium with the electricity output of a hagfish. The only sign of life in that stadium came from the Fresno State fans.
