I don't have a link but ESPN just had a televised report confirming that "sources" indicate Boise is staying. Which may be qualitatively little different from other reports, based on unidentified sources, to which we have been subject over the last few months.

Add a home game against Boise next year and our SOS will be undeniable if somehow FS can run the table.....guaranteed BCS Bound! Curious when SDSU will make an announcement they are staying and when/if Houston/SMU/Tulsa/UTEP are in reported "talks" with MWC.

I'm loving the fact that the Aztecs want back, but the MWC is gonna see if there's another team that would bring more value. A source has said that if they do come back, it'll be on MWC terms.

I mentioned this in an earlier thread. ALL of the news articles over the last few weeks have mentioned Boise coming back, but none had as much as a peep about SDSU. Think the founding members might be a bit upset with SDSU wanting to leave?

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the MWC is holding off on re-inviting SDSU to see if they can get BYU onboard. Like 'em or not, BYU brings a whole lot of value to whatever conference they're in, and are infinitely superior to the Asstecs.

SDSU already asking to get back in and the MWC is saying not so fast.."A Mountain West conference source with knowledge of the situation said San Diego State wants back in the Mountain West, but the league is holding up the process as it decides whether there is a better fit than the Aztecs and if there is a school that can deliver more value. The source said if SDSU returns to the Mountain West, the Aztecs would have to come back on the conference's terms."

But, if I had to guess, the Broncos will pocket a portion of that money and the rest will be split into the TV deal. Yeah, it sucks that the Broncos get special deals, but the reality is that without them, the conference is weaker and our television package is worth less. With them, we're positioned at the top conference of the Group of Five, and our television deal worth jumps up. |

So who is jerking around the Aztecs?
Things change. The idea of jumping to a BCS conference sounds nice. It's very inviting. Everyone wants the money, the perceived respect which comes with it. With the Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC chipping away at the Big East, it's no longer the conference BSU and SDSU signed up for. Buyers remorse? Yeah. But why shouldn't the MWC be cooperative and supportive and harbor ill will. Makes no sense.

--------------------------------------------- Because while Boise has been very gracious about their move, SDSU has very publicly trashed the MWC. If we could get BYU instead of SDSU, they're worth more in football, even in basketball, and a lot more in terms of national recognition. |

i said back when the MWC asked San Jose and Utah State to the party that they were anticipating eventual return of the Broncos and Aztecs (just never thought it would be prior to the 2014 season). The Aztecs are not on board yet...but....the conference will wait for them (a little while before they look else where). The commissioner (MWC) played his cards right on this one. The only bad thing is the Broncos are going to get a TV deal that will net them more than the rest of the league..but also more money for the other 10 teams as well. The conference could care less about the demeanor (cockiness) of the SDSU fan base..this is about getting a conference football tri-champion back, a top 20 basketball team and a top rated TV market as well as a destination city that has a bowl game. The Aztecs are back in as soon as they ask. Everything else will just be posturing. Question...if the exit fee is 10 million for the Broncos (from the BE)..whose paying it? I assume it will be the 10 schools in the conference at the moment (from conference revenue funds).
