Hopefully Mac's son learns from this. He is only a So., so he has time to straighten things out. As a father, anytime your kid does something stupid, it affects you to some degree. Do I think it will affect his coaching, no way (guys too much of a leader/winner).

Probably depends on what type of infraction it is.

First of all, what's the violation?
Second of all if it's for weed, give me a break.

So it was weed.... touch.latimes.com/#story/la-sp...-ucla-20121222/This makes me so mad, it's an injustice to these players that they're getting punished for smoking weed. Give. Them. A. Break. And. Stop. Being. A. Hypocrite.

BS for people saying he should not be suspended. It is against the rules, and it is his 3rd offense. At most other schools he would be off the team. Just ask Tyrann Mathue.

Plus, it is the opposite of a performance enhancing drug, so a player who is doing it isn't showing much respect for his own ability by smoking it during the season. Ford

My nuts aren't numb and whether it's illegal or not and it's not for medicinal purposes and if you want to go off and discount it's medicinal purposes then you'll prove your ignorance. So he was foolish and shouldn't have broken the rule or law. That does not make the law righteous or just. --------------------------------------------- --- anointed1sux wrote: PleasewintheWAC2006 wrote: First of all, what's the violation?

--------------------------------------------- Who is saying anything about whether the law is righteous or unjust? It's still illegal. And given that he is a sophomore he may not be 21 and it wouldn't have been legal anyway if pot was decriminalized. Secondly, he had a bowl game coming up and he apparently put his own meaningless recreation above the interest of the team and embarrassed himself and his family. I imagine his dad is kind of upset over that. I doubt if it will have any effect on how TMac coaches, other than he'll probably talk to his own players about not doing anything stupid. Ford

Go ahead and find it embarrassing. For those of you who think it's "no problem" or "it's just pot" and other excuses, tell that reasoning to the high school student here in AZ that was hit and killed by a driver found to have this in their system. I'm really certain their parents are also thinking "no problem". Pathetic

The legalize Pot troup continues to get it wrong. So what if it is legal? Under 21 and it will be a crime to have in your possesion.
Get caught drving under the infulence of Cannibis too many times and go to jail.
Every company is the US that has concerns about employee saftey and liability will terminate employees by policy under the influence of weed at work just like alcohol. Get stoned too often , miss too much work and get fired . Just like alcohol.
Just as today companies will regulate what medication employees can be taken at work regardless of a doctors prescription. You can not take presciption pain killers at my place of employment, you will not be able top be stoned at work if pot is legalized.
Legal pot is not a get stoned get out of jail card free.
I will predict that NCAA members schloarship contracts will prohibit pot use while a student athelete.
