RE: Ezekiel Elliot

Not sure why someone would rather go to Missouri over ohio, at least from a football standpoint. With that being said, now that Missouri is in the SEC I hope they open up their wallets and show Elliot the Benjamins.

His dad played football and his mom ran track for Mizzou and his high school is in Missouri. I know early in the process we told D. Green "no thanks" because they told Elliot that if he commits they will make him the only running back commitment in the class. So my GUESS is that he his taking a visit due to the OSU staff putting the full court pressure on Wilson to flip from Oregon to OSU, because although a bit smaller he is a bit similar to Elliot. So I think he is trying to pressure the staff to stop recruiting him. Texas and Texas Tech also just offered him which leads me to believe he has reached out. I'm nervous about how this plays out, but it's just one guy at the end of the day.

RE: Ezekiel Elliot

If you ever listen to the beginning of NFL games, the players tell their names and which college they came from. I hear more and more players from small little known colleges who impressed NFL scouts as starters in the NFL. For the life of me I can't figure out why a kid would want to hide their talent in a seriously deep roster or desire to play in the SEC where relatively few can shine and you might only get a year or two of playing time. There are a lot of Big 10 players in the NFL, so why wouldn't this kid want to go to a larger school in a weaker conference to get more playing time? I doubt this kid flips, but the SEC pitch is very strong right now in the minds of young athletes.

I simply meant that OSU told him that they were no longer pursuing him (words from Greens own mouth) after Elliot verballed." at the time OSU looked like an early favorite at the beginning stages of the process with his favorite player being Eddie George & he helped convinced Curtis Grant to come to OSU. Not saying that we turned down a commitment attempt.

I don't get why we have posts on players who aren't even considering us.  If so, can we have another forum for that.  Pretty sick of the whole Te'o thing to.  I know it's the offseason, but how about we discuss current Michigan recruits.banghead

Re: Ezekiel Elliot

In other news Joey O'Connor is transferring out of Ohio State, offensive line is a position of need at Ohio State so this would be more of an impact than losing out on Elliot where they are loaded at running back.

Makes Dan Skipper and Cam Hunt all the more important

Also Connor Crowell(linebacker) is done at Ohio State with a medical waiver from a leg injury.

Green is the one that said OSU notified him they were no longer recruiting him. No idea if he had OSU out front or if he would have ever selected Ohio State...but don't pretend that he wasn't interested in OSU.

As for Ezekiel Elliot...nothing to see here...he'll be a Buckeye.

I hope the kid don't switch so his family can still live in Ohio.

RE: Ezekiel Elliot

Clearly comes with some bias... but honesty feel this isn't much of a story. The staff has been aware of the visit, Elliott and his dad continue to say he is strongly committed to Ohio State and those that have always been in contact with he and his family say this is nothing to worry about.

Zeke has been an Out of State recruit that has acted as if he grew up in the shadows of the Shoe... I don't think this is a business trip to Missouri...
