Sad news about one of our posters
Fellow posters:
I received a PM from the nephew of one of the GBW longtime posters here, Ricklos.
Rick was battling Cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy treatments for over a year. He lost his battle last weekend. I knew he wasn't doing too well, he hadn't been on the board since January, and I hadn't seen him at Yost all season.
Rick and I met at Yost arena about three years ago and became casual friends here on this board and at Yost. He tried to make it to as many games as he could with his wife Julee. They were from the Lansing area, so it was not an easy run.
He is being viewed in Grand Ledge today, and will be laid to rest tomorrow.
Please take a moment to salute one of our loyal Michigan fans and add any thoughts you have of Rick.
My comforts to his family. I'll miss him.
Yostmeister

RE: Sad news about one of our posters
One of the regular contributors to the hockey board, was wondering where he'd been the second half of this season. I hope the family can get through this rough period of mourning and lean on each other. I think most of us have lost loved ones to battles with cancer so this will hit home with most people. Hope he lived a fulfilled life (being a Michigan hockey fan, I'm sure he did ;) ) Most of us don't know each other on the board, but it is still a type of community. And we lost a member this week.
RIP Rick and Go Blue!!

Horrible news. I met Rick and we bonded over Michigan hockey at Yost probably five years ago. I knew he was battling cancer and had hoped he would pull through it. We lost a good one.

RE: Sad news about one of our posters
I never meet Rick but they are a select few on the hockey board and I love talking with everyone. That sucks to hear that he past away. Like bacon said there are a select few of us and we are a community. We are the few diehards. Sad to see one of us go. I hope his family pulls through. Remember the good times you had with him.
GO BLUE RICK!

I'm very sorry to hear this...he'll be missed. I wish his family the best as they deal with this loss. Cancer f**king sucks. I know too many great people (and animals) who were taken from us way, way too soon.
